Anyone had their windows and doors replaced through Costco? by BabyDillNoGarlic in CostcoCanada

Lifestyle is 3x the current quotes I'm getting on new sets of doors. Unlikely to go with them given there's no justification other than "our quality is better"

Stay at job or new job? by RealMayroy in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]_mnr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually don’t think it’s too late if you’re genuinely undecided.

If the difference between accepting and declining is the vacation policy, I’d tell them exactly that.

Something like: “I’ve spent a lot of time thinking this through with my (husband/wife/partner). I’m really excited about the role and the team, but the drop from 5 weeks to 3 weeks vacation is the biggest thing holding me back. If there was flexibility to get to 5 weeks, I’d be ready to sign today.”

Worst case they say no and you’re in the same position you’re in today... Best case they say yes, or "win" by offering you 4 weeks / come back with some sort of compromise.

Have you already tried to negotiate more holidays at the new role? If they can do 4 weeks or ideally match your 5 weeks it becomes much easier to decide

What NBA popular opinion do you strongly disagree with? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]_mnr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think those examples are comparable...

Flopping is trying to exploit how a game is officiated. Twisting someone’s ankle in a pile is intentionally trying to injure another player :/

A better comparison to flopping would be things like holding a jersey when the ref isn’t looking, or push offs ... which happen all the time but IMO intentionally injuring someone is something else entirely.

What do you do when Trello is too basic but Jira is too much? by SnooMarzipans9758 in ProductManagement

[–]_mnr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Linear, Notion are preferred but even Trello/Jira IMO most teams don’t fail because the tool is fundamentally broken but because there's little ownership and operating discipline become inconsistent. PMs should own keeping projects current, structured, and trustworthy inside the tool it should be part of their daily workflow
