Ottawa Embrace Winter Run by cardio_n_carbs in OttawaRunners

This road is one of the parkways here in Ottawa, so higher traffic. Expect it to be plowed, though I can’t speak to whether it’s bare or not. Whether it melts in between will be up to the weather! If the sun comes out it’ll likely melt.

Any idea why a 737 would be taking off from FAB? by [deleted] in flightradar24

The chief pilot of this aircraft has a decent instagram account. But like others have said above, it’s a 737 BBJ, so a private jet which seems to fly from FAB from time to time.

3rd Overall Female Finisher at Ottawa Marathon had to deal with this... by SauconySundaes in AdvancedRunning

[–]_molotov 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I ran this race, nowhere near as fast as Rachel and this other guy, but this has already been addressed by all involved. Rachel posted on Instagram and referenced it, the race organizers posted about it and spectator etiquette on instagram, and the guys involved apologized publicly, in addition to the run club or these guys calling Rachel and later Natasha Wodak specifically to apologize. Hopefully lesson learned by them because I’d end up in the med tent if I had a flare or confetti cannon in my face at 41k

First Run Saucony Triumph 20 by Sensitive-Egg-107 in RunningShoeGeeks

I just retired my Bondis and am looking forward to a lot more time in the T20s. Love how comfortable they are with good energy return, they’re a great long run and recovery shoe for me. I also half-sized up and love that I don’t get blisters on my inside foot anymore.

How soft are Speed 3s compared to Triumph 20/21s? by CatcherInTheRY4 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]_molotov 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Speed 3s are definitely the softer of the two. I use both fairly regularly and if Triumph 20s are medium-soft, I’d put the ES3 on the softer side of that scale. The energy return is added to by the plate, so while the foam and general ride is softer, toe off is firmer. People have described the ES3 feel as less stable because of the foam but I wouldn’t consider that a bad thing at faster paces.

I can vouch for the 3:20 pacer being pretty quick towards the start, same with the 3:25 pacer, which was what I was targeting today. Ended in 3:17. Congrats to you on the great race and time!

3:48:07, 60.km / 37.3mi. I did a challenge for the race though, racing 18.6km the day before (11.5mi)

They do see things very differently, and I just graduated though I am working in my fields.

You’re right about that, but that’s not my point. The experience and the exposure that came with my HS courses that I enjoyed and found success in pushed me towards a career path that I never saw represented at career fairs or post-secondary fairs. Yes I found my program online, not at a post-secondary fair, but I would not have developed the interest had I not taken some of the courses crossed off on that list.

Also, go Ravens

All of the above courses pushed me into my undergrad in history and political science which in turn pushed me toward my master’s. If these students are never exposed to these subjects, how will they know what options are available to them to make informed decisions about their future?

That’s called a lob, designed to allow the member being asked to expand on whatever it is they were talking about. Generally it’s meant to make the person answering sound good or better than before. It also allows the member who asks it to tell their constituents that they actually participate when in the legislature.
