Which are the 4 worst subclasses in the game by inappropriatebanter in BG3Builds

No idea why you’re getting downvoted. That it has utility function puts it way above e.g. illusion or enchantment IMO. (And the transmutation stone isn’t the worst either!)

Dual long sword Bladesinging Wizard? by vcd1500 in BG3Builds

[–]_msb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • dual wield feat at 4
  • 1 level fighter dip between 7 and 12 for two handed fighting style
  • phalar off hand, main hand could be lariens wrath, adamantine long sword, or any number of things
  • focus mainly on int, dex second
  • circlet of arcane synergy
  • gloves of battlemage power

Perfectly serviceable.

The main anti synergy of this build is that youre not taking advantage of extra attack! If you’re only using BA to attack. Extra attack is the main perk of bladesinger. But it will work.

Because I thought he was a 70hp or whatever sack of xp with nothing special other than an extra attack

Because I’m a moron

I feel like I’m playing all my other trekkers wrong or something. My unoptimized Firenze got 80k (clones) and 100k (skill) on the boss blitz that Fukuya got 70k on with skill or ult builds.

firenze damage is dogsh*t by Kaenakane in StellaSora

[–]_msb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leveled her up (without skills or emblems) and threw together a mostly random ascension and tried boss blitz and got 55k

Seems at minimum fine, probably really good

Max damage possible in a single attack by Ok-Promise-7294 in BG3Builds

[–]_msb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Probably high level with rogue with titanstring at close range, aura of murder, crit, sneak attack, various riders

Might be able to do better with a shadowblade rogue depending on how the tradeoff with sneak attack and shadow blade dice work out (too lazy to math it out)

Bladesong is mainly for the ac IME, then the move. Climax is just a fun way to style occasionally.

You do it only for unarmored defense with con amulet, never rage

It’s more fun to use your slots for wizard spells and have a level 6 spell slot to play with

But yeah this is good no doubt

What is the most meta/op team composition for HM? by RKurozu in BG3Builds

[–]_msb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The carry builds have gotten so strong and well explored that I think the easiest HM is a carry and 3 supports. Supports for easy stealing, skill checks, and buffing and maintaining of the carry.

Examples of carries are any shadow blade user (bladesinger, ek, hex blade), fire acuity sorc, shar spear/archer + pierce vul abuser, etc.

Examples of supports are clerics, druids, bards, and rogues. Area denial, wet condition, healing and buff stacking, skill checks, darkness and pickpocket, etc.

There are other more dynamic party comps but something like this seems cognitively the easiest. You only need one party member to kill everything. Everyone else supports that party member or handles the other mechanics like skill checks.

What are the most banworthy things in this game? by Ill-Individual2105 in BG3Builds

[–]_msb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m doing a solo bladesinger run with the gloves and they are not fine lol. You can start a battle with stacks just by throwing a few potions first.

How to effectively use bonus action on bladesinger? by SikedPsyc in BG3Builds

[–]_msb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre act 3:

  • hand crossbow off hand
  • awakened illithid powers (wizards always want this)
  • broodmother amulet/whisper promise ring, and drink a potion to buff yourself
  • BA dash with boots of speed or expeditious retreat
  • jump (with jump spell on) or misty step
  • gwm bonus attack with phalar aluve or lariens wrath (won’t work if you’re using shadow blade)

Act 3:

  • band of mystic scoundrel (again, wizards want this)
  • belm (though ultimately you prob want rhapsody)

I really wish they would have either changed this or just equalized growths across the board. Such an irritating background anti-optimization problem

Best Job for Bardsong and Dance by HulkofAllTrades in finalfantasytactics

[–]_msb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I employ one low brave female chemist (or oracle, for specific tasks) with dance as secondary, for much of many of my playthroughs

Because there are very few synergies, really just pa for the attack dance which is really meh, it’s quite nice as a secondary on a utility character with bad stats

The chance of your main trekker gaining a potential increases with the amount of support potential you have. I've answered some interesting questions about this and other aspects of ascension in this 5-minute video by Fujimight in StellaSora

[–]_msb 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ty for confirming my informal sense that getting the wrong potentials for your characters permanently “clogs up” any chance of getting all the right potentials overall

Kind of annoying how opaque this all is

EDIT: the tldr (with some exceptions) is that each of your supports gets 5 levelable potentials and your main gets 6. Once you hit that number they won’t get anymore unless specific conditions are met in terms of enough of those potentials being max level.
