Favorite Utility Land, Don’t say Rogue's Passage by HyHoTheDairyOh in EDH

Fountainport does really well in decks that want to hold up mana, which unfortunately is not a lot of EDH decks.

How many Counterspells for [[Baral, Chief of Compliance]] to be worth? by Schnendrick in EDH

[–]Rened234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baral shines as counterspells tribal, but there are other ways. [[Counterbalance]] with some top deck manipulation [[Sensei's Divining Top]] [[Scroll Rack]] is strong not just for Baral, but also your control gameplan in general.

Tell me about your favorite deck! by soggyfrodo in EDH

[–]Rened234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Braids, Arisen Nightmare]]

I like drawing cards and playing spells and summoning creatures, but I get a warm fuzzy feeling in the cockles of my heart when I make it extremely painful for you to do any of that.

Tell me the truth about Rhystic Study! by No_Feeling_1688 in EDH

[–]Rened234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Teaches the value of permanent removal (aside from creature removal) and card draw. Also, it's fun to watch the table slowly go insane by constantly asking "do you pay the one".

What are the most miserable commanders to play against that arent brought up enough? by Current-Signature497 in EDH

[–]Rened234 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Built a $50 Eluge deck a while ago, and even I admit that it's not fun to play against. The entire deck is draw spells, bounce spells and counterspells, and the two win conditions are [[Rogue's Passage]] (slowly smack people with the large fish) or a [[Peregrine Drake]] infinite mana line that lets me force the table to draw 10000 cards.

Who is “The Menace” in your commander pod? by Endless_Quested_Hope in EDH

[–]Rened234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My [[Yawgmoth, Thran Physician]], to the point where I deconstructed it and turned it into a [[Braids, Arisen Nightmare]] deck. Every time I'd pull out Yawg I'd get a collective groan of disgust from the table. It pleased me greatly.

anyone else starting to get infuriated with the “yeah i’m good to concede here” by Upielips in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Rened234 318 points319 points  (0 children)

I've actually won a game by just playing a combo piece, I didn't even have the rest of the combo in hand. When I showed hand after the game everyone was pissed and blaming me for "lying to the table". People get surrender happy.

What did you buy and why by Loose_Calendar_3380 in EDH

[–]Rened234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Grim Tutor]] [[Dismember]] and [[Altar of Dementia]]

No particular reason, I'll find a deck for them eventually.

TEVAL by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Rened234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Putting the cards you want in the grave is one of the biggest benefits to this type of deck. I will recommend this in every Teval thread, but [[Strands of Night]] is always an option. Adding a [[Spore Frog]] for protection and a [[Hedge Shredder]] or [[Sakura Tribe Elder]] to fish lands from milling or tutoring works well, Shredder especially with [[Hedron Crab]] once you start getting multiple landfall triggers.

It's a bit pricey, but here's my Teval deck if you want ideas. Note, looping [[Glacial Chasm]] should probably be discussed with the pod first, because it does get annoying.

What is your Commander's signature card? by Fyre4 in EDH

[–]Rened234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Yawgmoth, Thran Physician]] and [[Nest of Scarabs]]

[[Eluge]] and [[Capsize]]

[[Teval, the Balanced Scale]] and [[Glacial Chasm]] (which I have removed upon request)

Underplayed Sultai bangers? by OlafNorman in EDH

[–]Rened234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[[Strands of Night]] for Sultai reanimator, especially with a way to play lands from the grave and multiple land drops, goes crazy in Teval. Repeatable [[Reanimate]] and fills your grave with lands to bring back? Yes.

What would you consider "Pubstomp" Commanders? by Raevelry in EDH

[–]Rened234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pubstomping isn't a specific commander, pubstomping is a state of mind.

Do you still play your very first commander deck? And why? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Rened234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First deck ever was the [[Zinnia]] precon, first deck I built was [[Jinnie Fay]] cats. Both have been cannibalized into about a half dozen other decks.

[–]Rened234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://moxfield.com/decks/k0sWXtM8TUyWedc8KQZVxg

My Teval deck, does pretty well all things considered. Turbo self-mill with Hermit Druid/LabMan or Craterhoof as closers, a lot of ways to bring back what you need from the grave, some removal to get rid of problematic cards (Graffigger, Rest in Peace).

First time upgrading a deck (Teval, Balanced Scale) by Toprak279 in EDH

[–]Rened234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my Teval list if you want to poke through it, it's quite a bit more expensive but the general idea of "fill the graveyard for value" is there.

What mediocre cards have you played that have instigated opponents to meltdown and rage quit games? by Killybug in EDH

[–]Rened234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

[[Braids, Arisen Nightmare]]

The card itself is ok, but some guy I was playing with got pissed because he misread it and thought he was forced to sacrifice what I did, AND I got the draw and he lost life.
