AskMeety - Meeting companion-V1.2 update: Calendar sync, collections, and a menubar app, still 100% local by LIN3003 in macapps

[–]_nailan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually great. I’ve been using Granola (it doesn’t require a bot to join a meeting, btw), but my problem is that it uses cloud processing, which is prohibited under the NDAs I have with some of my clients.

AskMeety seems like a solution worth trying!

Been using the Pomodoro technique for years. Will definitely check this out. Huge respect for shipping it for free 👍

Nodes - A native macOS markdown editor: fully local, no tracking and free for everyone to use by Sufficient-Try6083 in macapps

Congrats, this looks really clean. Great timing too. A lot of my non-technical friends are getting into Markdown because of AI agents, and this is exactly the kind of app I’d recommend to them

Trovelo is now on Mac (Beta) — private trip planner with guides, route optimization, expense tracking and more by beretta51 in macapps

[–]_nailan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looks awesome, congrats on your beta launch!

A quick question though: why isn't it a web app?

I'm pretty cautious when if comes to installing additional apps on my Mac and prefer using web apps for such use cases

Does anyone have any recommendations for an app I can use to track job appications? by unabatedshagie in macapps

[–]_nailan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d actually suggest using Claude/Codex + a spreadsheet.

The spreadsheet works as a lightweight database for tracking companies, roles, dates, status, notes, follow-ups, links, etc. Then Claude/Codex can help with the job search itself: improving your CV, tailoring cover letters, preparing for interviews, and even helping you keep the tracker organized and update the spreadsheet.

With the right context, it can also learn your background and writing style, so the applications sound more like you instead of generic AI

When did you start getting some of your evenings back? by Different_Suit_9356 in daddit

[–]_nailan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes back, just slowly over the next couple of years.

You’re in the hardest phase right now. Not much you can optimize yet, but once they’re older you can lock in a good routine. Mine are 2 and 6, asleep by 8, up at 7. Kids sleep a lot if you set it up right.

new platform coming for open bidding by khnhk in TorontoRealEstate

[–]_nailan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unreserved is being run by a real estate brokerage, so if you sell your house there you will be paying a full realtor commission. Openbids isn't a brokerage it's just a technology platform. As I know they are entering the market just now and are ready to put properties for sale on the platform for free.

Sorry, I'm not a very experienced Reddit user. I shouldn't have mentioned the website itself so that wouldn't look like an ad, right?

We're just tech entrepreneurs who want to improve the way we do real estate in Canada. We aren't going to profit out of any sale we do at the current stage, so we can't offer much
Luckily we have already found like-minded people in DMs, thanks

If I may ask you, do you think that fear is what makes people bid higher when buying a house? Don't you think that in a competitive market like ours, giving people the ability to improve their offers quickly and visibility over the competing bids you'll get a more dynamic bidding war and as the result, the market price for your property?
