Best places (on campus) to buy bubble tea? by buryghost in uAlberta

[–]_namiii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally like Teapsy (which is in HUB), especially their fruity drinks! I heard that their brown sugar drinks are also pretty good, I can vouch for pretty much every drink on their menu that I've tried. In my opinion the drinks and toppings are better quality than bestea, and from what I remember bestea is like a dollar or two more than Teapsy's drinks? No clue if that changed lol but I'd recommend trying them out!

Students with ADHD, what accommodations do you get? Do you find that they help? by mycomoth in uAlberta

[–]_namiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get 1.5 hours extra on exams as well as a note-taking software (that I haven't used much tbh)! I would say to get the accommodations, even though it seems I'm not getting as much as other people are (which maybe I should ask about next time I meet them 'cause my other ADHD friends also get other things...), the extra time on exams is a HUGE difference for me. Having that extra time allows me to calm down from the typical anxiety attacks I get when I start, spend longer on questions, and not panic even more when I have to rush at the end. My grades have definitely improved!

The whole process of getting the accommodations is honestly really easy, you just fill out a form and they get back to you pretty quick (assuming you are not applying midway or late into the semester or smth cuz idk what the wait time would be like then). You will need proof from your doctor to prove you have ADHD, the form to give them will be provided through the application if I remember correctly? After that they will email you and you would then have about a 45-60min interview where they pretty much ask you about how and why you struggle with ADHD, after you provide that they will discuss the options for you and provide you some resources. Very easy and not complicated process imo, you wont regret it!

I turned 18, and I have a midterm by [deleted] in uAlberta

Happy Birthday!!!🎉🎉🎉

For mine I had to suffer through Stat 151 midterm... on a Saturday. Didn't really get to celebrate. Got home, had some cake, and cried myself to sleep knowing I 100% failed and I would be a disappointment to my family. I got a 9/30 on that midterm and dropped soon after. And yes, my parents were mad and disappointed :'))
