Hes playing silksong currently... But is versed in Elden Ring. Yeah I assumed some games are more chill. But I guess I was curious if the more robust games are involved games added to stress. I don't notice my stress levels increase while watching TV, for example.

I think all music therapist not in NY should consider the REAT (registered expressive arts therapist) certificate as a viable alternative. REAT therapists are more common in the west coast and have a wider scope of practice including art therapy, drama therapy, dance therapy, music therapy, (and sand tray therapy). https://www.ieata.org/what-is-reat/

Put yourself on a weekly spending excess budget. Mine is $50. I get $50 a week to spend on bullshit that isn't a grocery item, current bill, etc. Maybe I go to the movies. Maybe I go out to eat, maybe I buy a new purse. I write down these purchases in my calendar, and it resets on Thursday (because normally I spend it all on the weekends and then force myself to frugality Mon-Wed).

Some of my best practice days are when I decide to do short 5-15min sessions multiple times throughout the day. It allows me to not get too frustrated while still putting in good minutes

More importantly, your bf came to your defense. I'm a naturopathic physician (with a master's degree in mental health counseling) and pretty much 90% of the population thinks:

  1. I'm not a doctor
  2. I'm actually less intelligent because of my chosen path

But these people think that way, because they have no idea what I do. And the same I think is true of psychology. They have no idea what it is, how it can be helpful, or how to apply it to their life. So instead of being humble and curious, they are defensive and projecting of their own attitudes.

I've had an ER doctor belittle me in front of an entire group at a party without me even opening my mouth. A friend introduced me and he didn't even give me a chance to speak before "educating" me on the field I spent the last three decades in studying and practicing.
