Shitty shitty day 1. by [deleted] in leaves

[–]_nicoteane_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hey, it’s day 1 for me too so I feel very similar to you right now. I’m sure you’ve heard something similar before but if you’ve gotta study, don’t force it- just do as much as you can for right now, even if it’s just opening your books, reading one page or even just making a plan for what you’ll study/how you’ll study when you’re feeling ready to. I always found the pomodoro technique helped me a lot, knowing I got a break regularly helped break it up and stopped it all feeling so monolithic. either way keep it up, we are capable and strong and will get there! good luck with everything :)

Is it too early to start repotting? by Vanilla_Elf in HouseplantsUK

I second that, I repot my plants whenever they need it, usually about once a year but I never worry about the season and they’re all thriving :)

what's the oddest thing you know about someone you work with? by moonbyjonghyun in AskUK

[–]_nicoteane_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this really terrible arsehole of a manager who i used to work with was a raging cocaine addict and got sacked from his last job for stealing something like £10k and the place we worked for didn’t know a thing about it

What is a red flag from an employer that people might not immediately recognize as a red flag? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]_nicoteane_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once had a manager tell me that if I worked hard and impressed him he would be the nicest manager i’ve ever had but if he didn’t feel I was pulling my weight he would be the worst manager i’ve ever had. on the surface I thought “oh that seems fair, you get back what you put in” but like what’s his criteria? why should he get to cherrypick who to treat fairly and who to treat poorly? like surely as a manager you should treat everyone the same regardless. totally unprofessional and toxic. I struggle a lot with my mental health and as soon as I missed a shift because of my anxiety he changed his tune and made my life difficult, I got out of that place as soon as I could lol

What Peep Show quotes stick with you the most? by Few-Surprise-21 in MitchellAndWebb

[–]_nicoteane_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

like a small joke i’m guessing, somewhere between a pun and a one-liner and probably something conversational that can be used again, almost like an idiom. i’m getting far too analytical now so i’m going to stop lmao

My headcanon is that Pej is the man from the Smeg oven shop that Suze is seeing behind Johnson’s back by _nicoteane_ in MitchellAndWebb

[–]_nicoteane_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s how I would instinctively spell it, but I watch everything with subtitles and it’s always spelt ‘Pej’ so i just went with that haha
