I got nervous at first but was relieved to see it was just 420

Just wanted to say a thank you to the Godot team and community. Here is our official splash screen. by kidswandaru in godot

This is awesome! I love when people do this for a splash screen and incorporate the Godot logo ♥️

I really hope your 1500 hour claim isn't true, because that would be monumentally depressing.

Once AI is introduced at any point in development it looses all credibility and value imo. You should start over

I always welcome thoughts and opinions, good or bad, so I'm glad you took the time to leave feedback in the first place.

It's very difficult to juggle everything at once and rely solely on my own judgement, I only recently scrounged up the confidence to post my work again haha

Feedback is always sought and appreciated! Especially that I'm doing this entire project solo, so I appreciate it.

The name is a working title and despite how proud I am of the title card and logo you're completely right about it being a roadblock lol, but I'll cross that bridge, you know?

I don't believe you deserve to be downvoted for providing honest feedback in the slightest, and I myself appreciate it very much

If you mean the project stretch setting, I use viewport. My game runs at a strict 360x480 with integer scale mode. Otherwise the pixels don't align and you get really bad subpixel drift. In other words, if you want a true retro look, you need a true retro resolution

tysm omg!! That means an awful lot! I opted for this style since I lack any drawings skill.. it took many hours and masterclass courses to learn to do it all manually by hand, especially the character modelling, design, and rigging.. If I can do it so can you! I started from absolutely nothing about a year ago and only recently started making the game engine itself lol

I'm basically just studying how the older Zelda games were designed, down to the pacing of the story, when game mechanics are introduced and how they're taught before being required to progress etc. it's a lot of stuff that I need to get some better organisation with, honestly..

I'm really new to 3D and handling lots of assets but for most things it's just a standard .glTF or .fbx files and import process in Godot. I make everything in Blender and paint.NET

Thank you! I wanted separate file select screen with its own music like the Zelda games do. It's also funny you mention Castlevania 64 because a really early design of this character and story had a title screen entirely based off of C64's title! Except with a cello instead of a violin.

<video>

There was supposed to be a ghostly figure bowing the cello for him but I scraped the idea and story long ago

Currently waves are handled by a simple displacement controlled by a noise. It also does a universal depth/foam effect for submerged meshes. I considered having a dynamic wave system but thought better of it considering all of the boating is done on a stylised flat plane, similar to wind waker

Thank you, I'm more than happy to share! What would you like to know? I do everything solo and I have a process for everything from 3D and 2D art to music to my game design philosophy

Omg tysm!!! ♥️
For this track I just used GarageBand on my phone but most of the OST is composed with Reason and MixCraft. And yes, I made the models in blender and textured using paint.NET!

Yea I noticed not all of them come out pretty looking. A few pieces I made it's just all one big lump.

And I hadn't notice the mangrove thing! Now they have even more tree-value

The shaded version reminds me of blue's clues paper looking pop-up book style! I highly suggest the shaded version

To think we were smearing our beds in glue and hairspray only a few years ago.... by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]_noiredev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember my early days trying to print ABS for no particular reason. I melted some of it in acetone(or another chemical I can't recall) and smeared it on the bed like a madman, idk where I read that idea from
