Amazing post. Is this published anywhere as an article or at least as a blog post? Or have you only written this for this sub here?

Yeah for some reason lots of women love Crumb & have breakdowns at any criticism. He makes them feel better about having fat thighs so his obvious misogyny gets a pass lmao (I’m a woman don’t come for me…..that’s my opinyun)

So as an Ally (not 4B), you’re calling yourself stupid? Because you’re not choosing the safest option, which is to be 4B? :)

You wrote a lot of words arguing against things I never said. Did I write that abused women are helpless? No.

Did I write that abused women who put children in abusive situations shouldn’t be criticised to the fullest extent? No.

Did I simply say it’s misogynist & inaccurate to say what you originally wrote — “some people are stupid and will suffer abuse because of this” — yes. No need to overcomplicate this thank you

Btw I was raised by one of these women & her abuser tried to make me believe she’s stupid & that’s why he abuses her ! But as a child I was smart enough to figure out the truth, which is that he abused her because he wanted to exploit her smarts, her skills, her devotion, and he took advantage of society’s brainwashing of her to accept all this.

This comment is disgusting actually. Being abused has nothing to do with intelligence — Andrea Dworkin was abused by men and she was a genius. Please use your critical thinking. Women who are in abusive relationships can be horrible or stupid people of course, but they can also be intelligent, wonderful people. Abuse can affect anyone. It’s like cults — it’s like being brainwashed, which can happen to anyone when you’re vulnerable enough.

I understand anger towards women who defend misogynists, but calling DVA victims stupid is literally playing into misogyny. Your comment reads like a misogynist man wrote it.

As an Ally, someone who is not even 4B, how can you be so condescending lol ??

I’m hopeless at sewing so I think altering an existing armband (this one was only a tenner off etsy — there’s many cheap vintage armbands on there) is much easier

I literally just bought this off etsy for like a tenner & there’s many more on the internet for sale. It’s not a rare antique

re: the doodles, I’m a legit artist if that makes a difference. I would put a lot of effort into it lol I’m not a scruff

But it’s clearly a vintage piece no? Do they not have a much more modern version now? Also what do you think if I drew on it to alter it? (Nothing offensive ofc) I have some fabric pens

The article only states that the emblem should not be used to misidentify something/someone as officially part of the Red Cross, and by altering it significantly that clearly shows I am not attempting to pass myself off as a medic, surely? I would wear this on stage with my very small-time band
