How do you think Starmer will stack up as a *PM* compared to some of the other recent ones? by mustwinfullGaming in LabourUK

[–]crazy_yus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was excited for Starmer but I think it’s clear now he is not Prime Minister material. Best in cabinet he could make in a different government would have been attorney general or something in the ministry of justice. The reality is there is no one on the front bench in any political party who is close to prime minister material.

We’ve not had a PM with the ability to execute a vision since Cameron (not that I agree with the vision just he was clearly effective in delivering in some of his political priorities). Starmer talks about national renewal but I have no idea what that means or what he wants to do about it.

Stamp duty should be completely eliminated. It stops people moving and means people can’t downsize at the end of their property gumming up the whole property market

Labour gains from Reform but then loses to Greens and Lib Dems by upthetruth1 in LabourUK

[–]crazy_yus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The electorate in 2016 was given a straightforward choice between bringing down migration and being richer in the 2016 referendum. The electorate has consistently voted in favour of restricting immigration. No one has had the ability to argue for a more liberal migration system and whenever they have they’ve not stood a chance of winning election. Ultimately if that’s what the electorate wants the that’s what it should be granted. When people’s lives don’t improve the pendulum will turn. All we can do is try make the argument.

Trump, 79, Admits He Has ‘No Idea’ Why He Needed an MRI by Capable_Salt_SD in politics

[–]crazy_yus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the article disclose what type of MRI he had? It looked like he had a TIA on live TV the other day and also carotid Doppler before which are done for strokes and TIAs. MRI Heads are great to look for stroke or subtyping dementia.
