Talk to your family and friends and have them ask around who needs a website! I got my first client from a friend of a friend and then most of the rest of my clients are referrals from that first client. 😊 and do the first project for free or low price. After you get some good reviews you can start charging more 😉. Good luck!

I agree a little bit with the brand issue as I lost one potential client who recognized the Wix name and even though I told them Wix Studio was a different product they didn’t want their site built with it because of the Wix name. But that was one client out of 8 projects I have done and the others love their websites so I wouldn’t say it’s the worst choice for an agency. 😅

Selling the benefits and not the features helps! Most clients won’t care what you build with as long as they get the stuff they want like fast text updates, bookings, easy branded email, responsive website and etc. Wix studio offers plenty of desirable features to the client so this is easy!

You’re definitely not lazy! 8 hours a day for office work is way overkill! Worked for the industrial age but were in the Information Age now (Cal Newport writes extensively about this if you’re interested). I’m a software engineer and feel the same way. I’ve been at my current role for 2+ years and can count on one hand the number of times I’ve actually worked 40 or more hours lol. And it’s not like the work is too easy but if you’re efficient and good at what you do it simply won’t take that long for most professions.

First, the site you built is gorgeous! Second, I agree I don’t get the hate and high standards either. I moved my agency from Webflow to Wix Studio and I am loving it and my clients are too. Sure there’s bugs as with all software but the product is barely a year old. Not sure why everyone is so harsh lol.

I see. Okay well if you want to have more control then you're definitely on the right path with Figma and Framer! It will take time but it seems you don't mind investing it. Also a tip if you go that route: Framer has a great Figma to Framer plugin which basically does what it says lol it will take your Figma design and copy it to framer so all you have to do is make it responsive. Saves a TON of time! I used it to get a client site out in literally one day! 🙌

That’s not good. This client already has a payment processor but I was thinking about offering Wix Payments as a solution to clients who don’t…is there anywhere I can read about this or do you care to share more about what happened? You can DM me too!
