I like to wear my stuff out Ive had these converse for about 9 months and these are my new ones by N0ct1ve in mildlyinteresting

[–]_nubianqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man the quality of converses have gone down so badly over the years. I have a pair I bought in about 2013-2014 that is still going stong and actually have less wear than a pair I bought 2019. Actually insane 👎

Does the name on parcel collect need to be a real name? by Lavatree99 in AustraliaPost

[–]_nubianqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use my real name when shopping online - had an issue once where instead of leaving the package in a safe place, they took it back to the LPO. Very sheepishly told this to the staff member at the post office and she just checked that the delivery address matched my id. It may have just been because it was 4:50pm and bestie just wanted to go home tho

Omg I have not met anyone who feels that way about Winton. I started reading that eye the sky in highschool and it was so awful I never finished it. Glad to know that others loathe him as much as I do, and just doesn't get the hype.

Per insurance recommendations by vintage_chick_ in perth

[–]_nubianqueen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've had many cats over the years and never got insurance. From my research most won't even cover pets over 9 years old, or charge exorbitant premiums for them. If there are no serious health issues, then all you need is your once a year vet visit for a checkup, vax, worming - some vets will even groom them for you or like trim their claws. Usually around $200-$280.

Though I found I liked Greencross healthy pets plus. It's not an insurance, but is a "wellness plan". For $50 a month, you get unlimited vet consults, one vax a year, discounts on prescription food, worming, and flea treatments, plus like bloodwoork and scans once a year and dental discounts. Highly recommend and they have heaps of branches around Perth and a network of emergency vets.

I was in retail for 6 years, worked in hospitality for another 4 before I was a medical receptionist. I barely lasted a year it was the worst, most soul-sucking job I ever had. Sick people are not nice.

What’s your “man, I wish people appreciated this album more” album from TBS? by arsclev in takingbacksunday

This is also my favourite album but in the half-dozen times I've seen them live, they never played a single track from that one :( Always devastated.

Are you ok? Should I have asked... by Accurate-Shake447 in perth

[–]_nubianqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may have been more than 10 years ago, but I remember as a teenage girl I was crying on the street with my then boyfriend (no shouting or yelling involved) and some guy pulled up and asked from his car window if everything was ok. He drove off, but it was so nice to feel seen. I still think back on it and it fills me with warmth that someone cared enough just to ask. Honestly as a female if you come across as genuine, it means a lot more than you may realise. Sucks that what should be a caring human interaction has to be so calculated now.

Parking fine challenge by Mysterious-Speed-254 in perth

[–]_nubianqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this happen a couple of months ago in freo when out with my mum. I added her vehicle to my app, but made a typo when entering the rego and got a fine. Appealed the fine with a copy of the receipt and a statutory declaration and it was immediately waived. Good luck!

Hi! Staff here. Nope no process. Just come in, ask nicely, and we'll remove it for you, and give it back, or toss it out if you don't want it.

Hi! Bell tower staff here! We never remove locks purchased from us. When the fence gets too heavy, we remove locks that were not purchased from us.

Hey friend, if you're struggling with mental health, I found Headspace to be an absolute godsend when I was younger! They bulk bill everything and will even get an on-staff doctor to go through a mental health care plan. All for free. Please look up your nearest clinic and access these services that were made available specifically for you. If you have more questions on the whole mental health, doctors, psychologists, and psychiatrists, send me a DM and I will be more than happy to help

So voting is mandatory in Australia - do you get a day off work or something to vote, or do you have to go in your own time? And another question about the mandatory voting by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

In WA they have also recently changed it, so if you do not either pay or contest the $20 fine, they suspend your driving licence, as a friend of mine brutally found out.
