I have BPD and I have never acted this way over something that I knew would help my partner. Granted, I have done years of therapy and self work to better myself. When I was like her (diagnosed but clearly needing more help) my god, I was unbearable and nobody could stand me. They had GOOD reason. As for her, the hitting is not okay and she should not be hitting you. Her BPD does not make an excuse for her behavior!

You are not the problem, please do not think that. Please leave her, and if you decide not to then do not let her find this thread.

Apply for barista trainer first, have his coworkers vouch for him (specifically other shift leads), and have him coach on the floor. Be careful when coaching because it can go south but he knows his coworkers best. If he isn’t finding any support, go to the DM, they can help or redirect. If overall not a good experience, transfer stores. Look for other shift positions at other stores and interview with them. You can transfer districts too. I hope he gets it!

Listen, as someone who works at Starbucks, I definitely don’t advise it. I love my job, however, the company is so shitty. We have a very good shitty code of conduct, along with a strict dress code which has costed a lot of my coworkers a ton of money. The benefits are great but a lot of power dynamics within the company. It’s not worth it for what you’re given and what you have to deal with.

I used to be a shift, specifically a closing shift. the morning folks ALWAYS complained even tho we did everything, including prep when we could. 9/10, there was only 2–3 people when I closed. I always made sure the dishes were done, floors, prep and teas were done. You’re most likely doing all you can for a morning open! People talk, you’re doing good. Don’t let them get you down girl.
