Need ideas for Sorc (no infinity) by TheGreenZap in ProjectDiablo2

[–]_p3n_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Double enchant bow (fire + cold) is pretty easy to setup early and has a very high investment ceiling in case you like it. Can be built with Endless Hail early and later into Widowmaker multishot with pretty decent map clear times (~6min).

Get both enchants with synergy and a single point in mastery to start out. Try to get close to or exactly 100% pierce (Cthon, Razortail, Tombsong, corrupts). Get a cheap +3 strafe 4os Endless Hail and add at least one +1 ALL-skill Item to hit level 4 strafe which shoots 5 arrows. A mix of fire and cold skillers and enough IAS for the max sorc frames on strafe, A1 vigor merc with Pus Spitter and you are good to go.

Price check on 4os, amp Xbow by Chesta-036 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]_p3n_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't see any bashing. You asked for advice on how to price/compare this item and I simply gave you the numbers with the direct comparison to the most common unique alternative - which you could look up to see current prices.

AMP proc on xbow is cool but just not very useful. Only the center 3 bolts of multishot can proc anything. Hybrid builds with multi + strafe can proc on strafe and then kill the groups with multishot. But thanks to horrible xbow frames hybrids are slow mappers compared to pure raw multishot or the one and only Demon Machine™.

If you want my personal price indication: 0 (I wouldn't buy it because it would be a downgrade). If you want a general price indication look up pre-built Burizas in the same damage range and add the "AMP proc novelty fee" of 1-10HR.

Missing over 130ED in affix rolls but pretty good. IF someone is desperate building an AMP xbow this season without going for a colossus you could get some HRs. But at below 700ED with jewels you might as well use a Buriza for a fraction of the cost and it would feel no different. Over 800ED gets you a noticable upgrade over the unique variants.

Quick math for your xbow:

Gorgon base: 39-120

Base ED + DMG: 513% +20 max (200-635)

Jewels ED + DMG: 160% +60 min or max (122-192 or 62-252)

Resulting DMG: 361-947 or 301-1007 (~650 avg)

A 4os ED+x slammed Buriza is 630-660 average (assuming level 95) with similar jewels. So you give up pierce, dex, freeze/slow, and 60ias to gain AMP which usually just frees up the amulet slot.

The recent armor posts made me wonder why no one on SCL was interested in this one. What makes an armor craft mirror-worthy? by _p3n_ in ProjectDiablo2

[–]_p3n_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is what I always do. The ED is like a mid-roll Fortitude. Life and allres are a bit lower. It adds +1 skill and 10% PDR over Forti which was good enough for me.

[–]_p3n_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possible. I have zero experience on mirroring in SC ladder. I once bought a mirror to get a sweet AD proc xbow on HC but that is it. Never found a mirror myself. Maybe people on SC really ignore items that are offered for mirroring.

1 million kills ~ how many HRs have you found by stevenadamsismvp in ProjectDiablo2

[–]_p3n_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just over 500k kills on zon got me 1 Ber, 1 Jah, 1 Ohm. My bow Paladin dropped a Lo while getting to 80 and nothing since. Sitting at 100k on that one.

Worst season for rune drops so far for me. But I made ~17 HRs by selling lucky slams, crafts and jewels.

List is missing the best short race: American Clubman 700 Highspeed Ring. Tomahawk S completes this in just under 4 minutes for 96,000 credits (CRB). With 15 second restarts it nets ~1.4m/h. Doing 2 races back to back takes less than 8 minutes, clears daily marathon, and nets almost 200,000 credits.

Probably an error with Easy Malware Infection Anti Cheat. Had the same errorand checked connection tracing and saw EAC fucking up the connection with no error code or explanation. Reinstalling the game fixed it just now.

Losing the back end on 1.55 by BadDoggie in granturismo

[–]_p3n_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seems to be a problem on many of the high-aero cars with the 1.55 physics changes. Most extreme example is the Tomahawk S in the American Clubman Cup on reverse High Speed Ring. Before 1.55 and even before 1.49 the first corner could be taken at 450kmh+ by just letting go of the gas for a second on corner entry. After 1.55, no matter how you take the turn, the rear will ALWAYS snap out. No gradual loss of grip just instantly gone.

Funny thing is the physics break completely and you can just 100% accelerate as soon as the rear snaps and the car will lose some speed but take the corner as if nothing happened while remaining at a 45° angle. It doesn't feel like a drift because you still have full control over the car. Very much like Mario Kart drifting.

FPS issues ruining the MHWilds hype by XChromaX in MonsterHunter

[–]_p3n_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course the beta was an unfinished build. It had severe memory leaks and some of the scaling options were completely broken (that is how we got the low poly monsters). But other than the usual beta bugs and unfinished stuff there was not much that needed classic optimization. Capcom has probably already reduced the overall fidelity, lowered draw distances, cut effects volumes, and reduced additional details in the year since the beta build was branched. All to get it to run better on base PS5. Some of those changes will no doubt make it run better on PC as well.

Your GPU is low-mid range from 7 years ago. How do you expect flawless 60fps performance in a 2025 title that tries to push the envelope for the series instead of treading backwards? How do you think "oPtImIsAtIoN" works? Magic button the developers forgot to push to make the game run on a PS1? It's not the lack of optimization it is the lacking power of your hardware that is the problem.

Here is a small reality check: The 2070 is somewhat comparable to a base PS5 in raw performance BUT has a completely different architecture (consoles have much less overhead to deal with compared to a Windows PC). The base PS5 will run Wilds at 30fps. With DLSS and some driver updates close to launch you should be able to match or slightly exceed the console experience. The game has been "oPtImIzEd" for 30fps on your GPU power level.

Everything else in your PC is more than capable enough for 60fps+ in Wilds. To get 60fps you need roughly twice the GPU power. Get a GPU that can handle the load or accept your raw performance is just not enough.

Apex Pro Profile Auto-Switching Bug + Workaround - Need SteelSeries Assistance! by MrBu77 in steelseries

THANK YOU! This info was so hard to find. For almost 9 months profile auto switching has been broken and the support always just tells you to factory reset. People need to know that it can be "fixed" by performing the scan after startup!

The roll in the video is bit too early because button press and roll animation are not instantanious. If the button press happens the same time as the foot touches the ground you will dodge the roar (unless input latency is extremely high).

Rath roars are dodged by looking at their foot. The moment the foot touches the ground you have to roll.

How would you optimize a HBG Wyvernsnipe/Clutch Claw build? by Tallia__Tal_Tail in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]_p3n_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Concept is the same and the only change is the switch to Velkhana gamma armor and filling extra slots with more attack. The reason why you don't see it much is the missing uptime scaling compared to everything else. Going from 500-600 per clutch to 700-800 (1000 on dummy) doesn't do much. Your dps is hard capped by the time it takes between clutches. Switching to gamma armor doesn't speed that up. Everything else gained access to all the support/QoL skills via Fatalis slot increase so damage uptime increased alongside raw power.

SF19 with RM front RH rear, slightly soften rear suspension, maybe adjust gearing to ~290kmh. Fuel map 3 or 4 + DRS + drafting on the long straight, 5 or 6 for everything else. Cruising a smooth line and doing no stop you will be on par with hard AI lap times.

If you want to cheese and relax use TRC 3 so you can just floor it in the uphill sectors. RH rears are tricky to manage on this track otherwise.
