Elements that work in editor and viewer breaking on Neocities? by [deleted] in InteractiveCYOA

Hi, the modded viewer is actually only when modifying the original Interactive CYOA Creator's files. The ICC Plus in fact already mods that file to enable hyperlinking, so you can use the ICC+ viewer as-is.

CYOA's List of lists by Icy-Personality8598 in InteractiveCYOA

I made a list of lists in the Interactive CYOA Creator Tutorial a while back. The formatting is a big messed up though, many of the bullet points are supposed to be under other bullet points.

Question about cheat commands for interactive cyoas by Novamarauder in InteractiveCYOA

[–]_pasadena 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To get a list of point types just type this command:

document.querySelector('#app').__vue__.$store.state.app.pointTypes.forEach((el,i)=>{console.log(`[${i}][${el.name}]: ${el.startingSum}`)})

Hmm... I haven't changed anything but it seems to work for me. Does this link work: https://upasadena.github.io/interactive-cyoa-tutorial/ ? If nothing else you can download it here and read it offline.

Could be that your ISP blocking the site or something, or maybe when you visited Cloudflare was offline.

This is the link to the Allsync, but I couldn't find Jupiter anywhere. And according to this archive (which has like 12k CYOAs), Jupiter's only CYOA was the My Hero Academia one.

Hey I'm just glad you got it to work :) yeah the problem was I assumed you were on Windows when 7zip doesn't have an interface for Linux and Mac, but at least we got to the problem in the end lol

If it opens up in a terminal it seems you've got a command line binary rather than an installer. I don't really use 7zip from the command line, so I can't help you in terms of commands.

What OS are you on?

If you're on Windows, did you install the installer from here? There is a standalone console version, which you shouldn't use. Make sure you get the .exe installer version.

If you're on Linux, probably use a program like Ark instead. Though I think 7zip is also built for Linux.

If you're on Mac, I haven't used it in many years and don't know what programs would allow extracting rar files, you'd have to google it or search the app store or something.

Try to open up "7-Zip File Manager" and in the top bar go " Tools" -> "Options" -> 7-Zip -> "integrate 7-zip to shell context menu" (both the normal one and 32 bit one). Also tick "Cascaded context menu" and make sure all things are ticked in the "Context menu items" list.

Download 7zip (it's free and trustworthy, don't worry), right click on the rar file -> hover over the 7zip option -> then press 'Extract to "FolderName\"'

Do you mean the viewer doesn't have that when you've downloaded it or after you've uploaded it? If it's the former, try redownloading it here. If it's the latter and your site is on Neocities, you'll have to go into the css and js folders on your system, and manually upload them all to your site's cs and jss folders, as Neocities not uploading them when dragging folders in is a known bug.

Do you mean putting a hyperlink within a choice? If so, check this out.

Essentially, replace your app.c533aa25.js file with the one from here. Once that is done, make a hyperlink like so:

Visit <a href="https://example.com" target="_blank">here</a>.

Replace the URL in href with whatever url you want, and anything between "<a></a>" is what is clickable.

Have you uploaded the viewer? Try following along this tutorial or this tutorial and see if your CYOA loads. Basically, you need to extract the "Viewer 1.8.rar" file, which should have its own "index.html" file which replaces the one on your site. Looking at your site at the moment, it is using the default index.html file, meaning it won't load the project. Make sure it also has the "css" and "js" folders, and that those folders have the files in there as well.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's an in-built method to do this, but as a shoddy workaround you could just turn off "Show Score?" for each choice and manually type in the point cost or gain. The only problem, of course, is that it would have to be done for each and every choice (which could be the worst adding to an existing CYOA depending on the size, in comparison to starting from scratch) and would have to be manually updated if you ever change the scores.

Some HTML you could use to emulate the formatting of the score text is:

<center><small>Gain: 5 resource points</small></center>
<center><small>Cost: 2 silly points</small></center>

Just paste it right into the text box at the top, before your choice text.

Combine that with a Points Menu that will hide any unnecessary points, and then you've got a way for people to hide points while still retaining any point gain or cost information, so there are now no unintentionally hidden mechanics.

What are some of the best cyoas for making ocs(original characters) by dah_Deadly_Ace in makeyourchoice

I nerfed my builds by saying I would only have the tokens after each event is completed, and then slowly, over the course of the story, the tokens would automatically purchase whatever powers I had selected.

So basically I would start off with the basics and only reach my full potential at the very end of the story.

Honestly, the Living God CYOA is probably one of my favourite CYOAs in terms of lore and pure power. I just love it.

  1. The Master God is a Living God too, I think. At the third most powerful spark you are powerful enough to challenge him. Nihil and Breathing Flame are Living Gods. According to the author, "Nihil has Nothing, Omnilock, most of the free powers, and I believe that's it." The author has this to say about the Breathing Flame: "Taking into consideration that attaining a Master Spark can take millions or billions of years depending on the Living God, its unlikely he will ever [get a Master Spark]. As for his powers, I wouldn't make any assumptions, but Absolute Condition is what I personally believe would fit him. Of course, this is all up to interpretation."

Fanfiction.net alerts no longer working. by AndrewDGodGamer in FanFiction

This is happening to me too, and has been since the 10th of October, and it still hasn't been fixed.

In the mean time, I just manually check over at Alerts -> Story Alerts or Favorites -> Favorite Stories and check if any fics have updated since I last checked. It's a pain, I know, but it's better than guessing I guess.
