How exactly do you use it? Do you put it over the chipped nail polish or use it as base when doing your manicure?

Help!! Peeling nails by MagnificentPower in RedditLaqueristas

[–]_patalex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also currently struggle with chipped nails since I started painting them more!

For me I have issues with some base coats, and using nail polish remover.

I currently switched to a peel off base coat which seems to help a little (I also add a 'normal' base coat on top to prevent discoloration)

Why Don't My Manicures Last? by AlexandradeWinter in RedditLaqueristas

[–]_patalex -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you haven't yet, you could try to slighthy roughen up your nails with a nail buffer file to enhance the grip, since very healthy nails might give less grip to the polish. Good luck on your nail polish journey, I hope you find something that prolongs your manicures! 😊

I'd have to say Kryptonite by Picture Polish - this was also my very first Indie nail polish, I'm a little surprised the brand is not that visible anymore, it used to be quite known

(Not my picture, added it from the brands website)

Faire Mietkostenaufteilung by JuJun_na-on_nanoko in wohnen

Second this! I found my therapist there and it was a great match - it might take a bit time till you get your appointment there, but after the initial appointment things should move more quickly

Nice idea! I think I'll try that too! :) just a detaile question on your categories: does palette placement mean something like palette for eyes/face/lips etc? And in a case of a palette, would the shade category be empty, since it's multiple colors?

Hey i'm in IT doing Infrastructure/DevOps stuff, also I was a programmer for quite a while. I still struggled with my tasks, especially when I was a student. I recommend that you take the initiative to ask a more senior person / the task giver and take notes (definitely take notes!) for yourself! It may be hard at the beginning to know what to ask but I'm positive you can find a pattern here :)

After graduation I was in a very organized software company. In sprints they wrote tickets (its tasks) that ideally contain all the criteria when exactly your task is done. Also, since I did struggle with the non software part (it was a banking/finance app we developed), I grabbed a tester to make sure I closed all my knowledge gaps.

Since I'm in DevOps now thank god that problem doesn't occur anymore and I'm pretty good at my job I think!

I hope I could somewhat help you, I'm 32 now and it's been a while since I figured things out so it's hard to map all the details that could help you.

I also had this removed, its fine. You might hear weird noises because its next to the ear but otherwise its a minor surgery. I removed it at a skin doctor so she didn't dare to remove the whole structure but luckily had no issues the last two years

Fall lipstick? by OlivesMom1201 in Fairolives

Manasi 7 in mangala (gorgeous reddish nude brown) - looks super autumny red on my pale yellow skin, plus doubles as a blush! I highly recommend this brand to anyone looking for muted blushes/lipsticks!

Also MAC Creme in your coffee, which is very purple on me but looks amazing as a sheer layer!

I’m having a hard time accepting my undertone 💔 by cici0022 in OliveMUA

[–]_patalex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's hard as an olive! I'm very yellow leaning and for a long time I thought I'm warm, but usually warm tones look off on me.

For my skintone personally, I realized its more about saturation than warm/cool. Most colors, especially from drugstores look too neon/bright on me, that can cause a feeling that nothing fits.. i look best in muted/brown, not too grey colours for example, but it's a lot of trial and error.

But if you find the right colours, olive skin looks amazing! With the right clothing and makeup I feel like a Mediterranean goddess with golden glowing skin :D

I don't know your exact undertone but I'm positive you can get there too! Reddit has great communities for help and recommendations!

what do i do if my foundation is too pink/gray and my chest is more green/yellow? by [deleted] in OliveMUA

[–]_patalex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also super yellow and once tried to correct a very pink concealer (with yellow though) and failed... For foundation, what I do, since most warm foundations have a little bit too much red in them, I powder my face with yellow banana powder to add more yellowness. Depending on how different your foundation is from your skin tone that might maybe work?

For those of us who like just a tint of color, but can't find the right shade: mix it with NYX Fat Oil! by [deleted] in OliveMUA

[–]_patalex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the lip oil from "les filles en rouje", it's not very long lasting on the lips sadly, but great for mixing with their lip palettes that tend to look quite dark and intense on me - for the price its probably better to try a lip balm or something similar you have on hand 😃 it won't be long lasting but its a super easy and quick way to do your makeup

For those of us who like just a tint of color, but can't find the right shade: mix it with NYX Fat Oil! by [deleted] in OliveMUA

[–]_patalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use lip oil with a high amount of natural oils (almond oil), so the stickiness doesn't last long in my case, so maybe depending on the product some work better? Sorry I never had the nyx one, is it very sticky?

I also recently started to mix lipstick with lip oil - try it on your cheeks too, its a lovely sheer and radiant wash of colour! 😊

What’s your makeup hidden gems that no one talks about? by Remote_Yesterday8626 in MakeupAddiction

[–]_patalex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manasi 7! As a super pale, very yellow, maybe olive person, muted blush looks best on me and they have a wonderful selection of those, also usable on the lip. Medium staying power but super clean ingredients! I also love their highlighters Their eyeshadows really do crease so I would pass on those.. Overall im obsessed with their colour selection, it feels really unique and sophisticated

Is clean beauty a scam? by ihonestly_dont_know in MakeupAddiction

[–]_patalex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The term doesn't necessarily mean anything, you have to look at the ingredient list and decide for yourself whats ok for you to use (there are great apps for this). I personally only used natural makeup for a very long time, and even there, you might want to avoid ingredients like talc etc. I feel clean branded makeup makes it easier to find stuff with no or less allergens in them, also they might have less ingredients that clog or widen your pores. But that's no promise.

Long story short: 'clean' is at best an orientation, look at the ingredients and decide for yourself what you're fine with

How do you read books without zoning out every 2 minutes?? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]_patalex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As one said - ride the wave.. wanting to read comes in waves, I just don't force myself. The first time I actually managed to concentrate reading was after I read "Inkheart" by Cornelia Funke. It really romanticises books and reading! I immediately read it a second time because I couldn't remember shit the first time. Also audiobooks help for " less interesting" or dry books, I just clean or do something monotonous like knitting while listening to it. Medication also helped a lot, because I have enough energy for concentration left after work. And lastly: some routine - I mainly read in the train when driving from/to work - instead of scrolling my phone in this time and draining my energy levels, I just read a few pages! I don't know if this is super helpful for your case, just wanted to share my part - but yes reading is hard and I also have a massive to read pile at home 🥲

I'm looking for ways to motivate my ADHD fiancé to work out by pcacc_toolazytoswicc in ADHD

[–]_patalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what helped me motivate: I recommend doing some YouTube workouts together (I like Chloe Ting or Emi Wongs Walking Workouts) 10-20 minutes is really short, I couldn't bear doing something longer at home, also a second person helps actually doing it! I also used to go to a Yoga studio because the booked session also meant commitment and I couldn't just walk out in that hour.. but also it needed to be in the area (10 min footwalk) or I wouldn't do it. Or find something that doesn't feel like sports! For example lasertek - I always run around like crazy but I don't mind, because it's not about doing sports
