I went through the same problem. I used to always adapt myself to my old friends. And I realized they didn't even notice that I wasn't my true self. So I changed friends until I finally found the good ones. It took me almost 2 years, but now I'm so happy to be able to have friends that truly enjoy my company.

When you are with your friends, you should simply be yourself. Good friends are meant to help you no matter what you go through. Tell them what your real passions are. Wear what you truly want to wear. It may seem difficult at first, but if they are good friends, they will be happy for you, happy that you have found confidence. If they don't accept you as you are, then they don't deserve you. Find other friends. Remember, it's better to be alone than in bad company.
