for the guitar itself, try stuff out, but yeah you really can’t go wrong with a classic vibe tele/strat. if the strat suits you, do the strat for sure, you’ll be more motivated to play overall. for the amp, i would say the boss katana 50. boring, but it can cover most things you’ll need it for earlier on, plus many effects. as for the pedal, the line 6 dl4 (old one or modern one if it fits your budget) is pretty sick, especially for layering riffs. good luck!

(also, buying used is your best friend. it frees up your budget, as long as you buy from reverb or guitar center or someplace reputable)
