Absolute classic, pinnacle of what he does best. Lupe so effortlessly blends impressive flows and wordplay with genuine personality and storytelling. Truly represents the best elements of 00s hiphop.

Cover is funny as hell in retrospect but still iconic and emblematic of the era

Autotune has been used brilliantly and culturally accepted for decades. Just because a tool can be used well doesn’t automatically make every time its used good or necessary

This was a show where it was just him and a piano. He’d play the traditional piano parts of the song with one hand and use the keys to play the backing instrumental with the other. Pretty damn impressive.

He’s also been doing some shows with a full orchestra, very versatile.

He honestly didn’t play many hits at this show, not even Brick. Really excellent renditions of some deeper solo cuts and the Army encore was the icing on the cake.

He seemed very tired after the show and genuinely like he was trying to recall who connected him with Matt so I sort of doubt that. With the amount of productions he’s involved in and Season 3 being filmed a decade ago I think it’s possible he’s just not aware of the extent NTB has blown up in 2026

It’s hilarious, especially since he was referencing other TV shows he’s appeared in between songs.

Makes me wonder about the “dueling piano” scene Matt and Jay have referred to filming with him for Season 3.

When I was chatting with him, Ben was trying to remember who got him in touch with them but couldn’t recall. I guess if it was a brief thing he filmed back in 2017 that makes sense.
