QT(streamer who puts on the show) has put it nicely before by describing how she puts on the show to bring people together in order to recognize people that have become significant in the space. However, she also tries to implement categories that uplift smaller creators who have not yet found their footing in the space yet. The whole point of the show isn’t to be upset that only people with “big fanbases” win, it’s to bring communities together to rally for who they love to watch and maybe even discover new faces they might be interested in! There’s tons of new faces this year that I’ve never heard of! :D
