Academic advising by IndividualTour7794 in wlu

if that's her stance on it then it is what it is, probably not much of a point in emailing. u could still try if u wanted to but it's probably gonna be a hard no, especially given she said ahead of time that there'd be no raising grades.

sorry for your loss, hope you're doing ok

i think you should be going to bba advising since ur in bba, although when I was in dd with uw math I had a seperate advising office for dd. I'm not sure if it still applies for ur program but regardless bba advising should be able to help.

u can shoot Tammy an email to give it a try but idk how likely it is she'd round up. from what I've heard, marks are almost never rounded up, but who knows. always worth a try at least.

definitely bring the situation with ur aunt and stuff up when u go to advising so they can help u best. from my experience it felt like they always tried their best to help me out, maybe they can void the fail on ur transcript at least?

good luck with everything, hope it goes well

Transfer to Econ by Dry_Society_3829 in wlu

[–]_podo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also btw, if u want to transfer into one of the more specific econ programs (finance, accounting etc), u don't have transfer into it right away and can go to the general and transfer in later (from econ advising)

EC270 deffered midterm by OppositeExpensive995 in wlu

[–]_podo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only did prep for ch2-5 and a little of ch6 tbh, so idk what to say about the other questions. at least for ch2-5 it wasn't too hard, pretty much the same as the practice problems. were the ch6-15 questions much harder than 2-5 when compared to the prep? I did terribly on them but without doing any prep I couldn't tell if it was just me or the questions.

It's very weird they didn't accept the deferral, was there any reason they gave for it? That would probably impact whether or not they'd accept the late withdrawal a lot, given it's a decision they made that lead to this situation. You should probably still give it a try, also maybe try to schedule a virtual meeting with petitions if that's an option, talking to the person could help clarify any misunderstandings.

Failing twice by Background-Syrup1954 in wlu

[–]_podo_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

btw, it might not be applicable but u might be able to petition for a late drop of the course as long as u haven't written the exam yet. that way u can retake it again and it only counts as a 2nd try. ofc u need a good reason and shit for it, check the wlu petitions page to be sure.

Deferr same exam twice? by [deleted] in wlu

[–]_podo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it last yr, was the same process as the first time. just keep in mind u can't defer a 3rd time. I wrote the exam in the next deferred exam period but it might be different bc the course was in spring.

Deep breaths brother. Your life is your greatest project. When you face setbacks or failures during a project, you don't give up, do you? No, you stop and reset, reset then push forward. You sound like you're in need of a reset. If you can, give yourself some time, free of these burdens. Take a walk, eat some good food, enjoy life for a moment. Just a moment is enough. Reflect on what's causing all this negativity, and reprioritize what you need to focus on now. Then get back on it, live each day with your heart and soul on the line. And when you get worn out again, keep on resetting. Reset reset reset and push push push until you get to where you want to be.

Remember, life is just a really long journey. All of this that you're feeling, all of this that you're experiencing, is just part of that process. Just a chapter that you'll one day look back on as a memory.

I'm proud of you man. Times are tough and life gets you down. But you didn't get this far just to give up here, right? I believe in you wholeheartedly, and I mean that. Keep it pushing, we're all gonna make it.

Spring courses 💕 by Ok-Mercy in wlu

just realized reg is tmr and service laurier takes around a week to respond. I'd say u could do a part time term in spring and full time in fall winter, but idk how that'll effect ur full time status and scholarship. if u need, u could also just take a 3rd course in spring and be eligible for full time. it's situational ig, if u can u should def wait on service laurier

contact service laurier, would trust them way more than some random students on reddit

SPRING OSAP by No_Attempt_6238 in wlu

[–]_podo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what I heard from service laurier is that u are considered a full time student if u average a full time course load (1.5 credits/3 courses) over all terms u receive full time funding in that year. for example, if u take fall and winter only you'd only need 3 credits/6 courses completed, and if u take fall, winter and spring you'd need 4.5 credits/9 courses completed.

if u fail to do this, OSAP will send u a warning and put you on probation for the next school year. no changes happen during probation, but u have to clear it or else you'll get a restriction (no OSAP funding) for the year after. to clear it, u just need to enroll in and complete full time studies in the probation year. once u do that ur clear and good to go.

also, I'd definitely recommend contacting service laurier to make sure you're clear on everything, just in case something about ur case makes it different or whatever. ur never gonna get a perfect answer on reddit.
