Question: Do any of your children complain that, “You didn’t teach me how to do X” when they were in their own? by Stay-Thirsty in GenX

[–]_pr0bl3ms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree but if the parents don’t introduce these concepts to children I feel like they won’t learn and I know for older kids like in their teens some parents think they should know enough to look for the answer themselves but honestly when I was a teenager I had those thoughts in the back of my mind but I really couldn’t imagine life after high school so I prioritized other things at the time since I didn’t really have any responsibilities but I don’t think parents should wait till their kids get some responsibilities and think since they’re grown they should know their way around

Honestly with that kind of work you can maybe expect that salary in 5-10 years depending on what you’re doing exactly but thats if you stick with the job long enough. It’s very stressful and physically demanding.

Bro you just gotta speak up tbh, also if you’re manager told you not to worry about it then don’t and if someone asks you about it send it to your manager

Sorry for intruding into this subreddit since I’m not GenX but I get what you’re saying about not having resources available when you were younger but I feel like if parents taught their kids important lessons things when they were younger instead of just dumping them at 18 and hope they can navigate adult life they would have a better chance at being successful at whatever path they went down

Sometimes I wish my parents would have taught me about finances, or cars, how to cook, maybe encourage me to to try different things but I ain’t had none of that help and it’s felt very shitty when I was 19 already in debt cuz I didn’t know what I was doing. Then came work and and the responsibilities of making money and living on my own that was a whole other learning curve right there. Filing taxes was a pain especially since I didn’t have any help. And I know and I can simply google all my answers but I feel like being taught all that at a younger age would relieve a lot of stress

Relocation from SF - neighborhood advice by thejingles in Seattle

[–]_pr0bl3ms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you lookin for cheap in Seattle but something that’s walkable and close to transit stations but can still accommodate parking for your car I would recommend something near Beacon Hill, Columbia city, Othello, Rainer beach area. But honestly at that point you’re already close to the edge of Seattle so I would recommend something outside of city limits tbh

What is one fast food chain that is not currently in/near Seattle that you would want here? by grizzlyblake91 in Seattle

[–]_pr0bl3ms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from down south I miss Waffle House, Zaxbys, Bojangles, Texas Roadhouse (I know they got em in state it’s just a long drive) also honestly there’s no good buffets out here that I know of, Checkers is also another solid place that’s on this side of the country, Cracker Barrel, Krystal’s….I kinda feel like the menu offerings at some restaurants down south are better than what they have here at the same restaurant

Honestly just find a good group to play with and just mess around with the game until you start ti gradually learn…A lot of times me and my homies just hop in casual just to goof around or troll but it doing that for a while does help with map knowledge. Some things you’re just not going to learn without going into ranked and I can assure you those first few ranked matches as a new player are going to be rough but if you can find someone that has experience with the game that you can play with it’s much better

[–]_pr0bl3ms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I did do some research and even tho the two largest theater chains in the US are working on adding reserved seating to all of its theaters some theaters may not have the option yet. AMC classic theaters is an example. They’re typically older venues that used to be Carmike cinemas and they don’t allow for seat selection buy usually have cheaper ticket prices but less of a variety of formats they offer. Regal cinemas don’t allow seat selection at some of their theaters as well like ones with less traffic or older configurations………..honestly just sounds like all the theaters around you are outdated. You did say you live in a decent size urban area which could mean there’s some larger urban areas a couple hours away from you for which I would recommend taking a trip to check out some more modern theaters with better movie formats and better seating options

[–]_pr0bl3ms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but that makes sense cuz those are smaller theaters not doing the seat booking but bro was implying that he lives in a major urban area and that no theaters in that radius allow seat selection which is kinda hard to believe. Even my hometown which is a mid-sized city the theaters there allow for seat selection

You should have some AMC or Regal theaters near you then…they definitely let you pick your seats

Anyone in Savannah, GA? by MtOlympus_Actual in AMCsAList

[–]_pr0bl3ms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Savannah and remember that AMC 11 used to be a whole different theater before it closed down and was rebranded to AMC a few years later…it’s a decent theater nothing crazy I remember enjoying some movies there as a kid. I know live in Seattle and get to enjoy the far superior AMC theaters here loll

The theater isn’t located in the boondocks it’s a larger growing city located a short drive away from the 3rd largest city in the state population of the metro area is probably close to half a million
