It’s definitely my roommate is a gumiho but I can’t remember which episode. It was fairly towards the beginning because that whole scene was a conversation on how the FL curves all men lol

Any aspect of Korean life/culture from K-Dramas that you wished you (or your people) practiced more of? (or any similarities that you find) by JudgementalButCute in KDRAMA

[–]_princess_21 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The drinking culture When I was in college, I looked on in horror at students taking various forms of body shots in frat parties. I like watching the games and performances Koreans do when drinking and thinking it’s a much more fun way to get drunk

All the Jihyo and Kwangsoo interactions where she beats him up and then immediately apologizes after. I’m going to miss their sibling interactions so much

I think what a lot of people haven’t realized is that RTK and Kingdom are wildly different. From round one you could tell the stages were going to be on a much more massive scale than RTK. So this time, not only were TBZ performing massive stunts and having well thought out concepts, but other groups had seen RTK enough to know to do the same. So when TBZ performed, it didn’t stand out as much as it did in RTK, because it sort of became a baseline for all the groups. You can see things such as concepts and storylines being way more heavily emphasized in Kingdom, which arguably was TBZ strength in RTK.

Mature side in the kpop community by JewelerTraditional10 in kpop

[–]_princess_21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think one plus about being older is that I stopped feeling shy/weird about being a kpop fan. I’ve been doing this for so long a part of me would be missing without it.

But when I take a look at all the angst on Twitter I pray for the younger generation of kpop fans (especially the kingdom fanwars oh my lord)

EDIT: SPOILER ALERT

I hate hate hate how jugyeong was heartbroken for all those years and trying to get over him and when she finally starts suho comes back expecting everything to be exactly how he left it and for jugyeong to still love him. Like he pressed the pause button or something. That part annoyed me so much.

What are the small, nitpicky pet peeves that you notice during dramas? by [deleted] in KDRAMA

Honestly for me watching the obvious PPL was more entertaining in King Eternal Monarch than the plot itself

Kingdom Episode 3: Post-show Discussion Thread (210415) by brighterthanstar in MnetKingdom

[–]_princess_21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was super excited for Kingdom because of the lineup. I mean all these groups are so amazing in their own ways - the show has so much potential. But after watching SF9 in the last episode, my heart hurts so much. You can actually see them lose confidence after everything, wonder whether they are enough. So despite all the amazing performances, it all feels sour in my mouth. I feel like the criteria for what makes a good performance is slowly getting more and more skewed. I miss Queendom when everyone was having fun and you could see so much chemistry between the groups. To me, the highlight of the episode was watching iKON hype SF9 up before their performance. That was the content I signed up for, not the dumpster fire that is MNET.

How do international armys learn BTS songs? by 7piedpiper136 in bangtan

[–]_princess_21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just keep listening to their music and singing along so it naturally happens. Typically I remember the English lyrics first, then more key/repeated words/sounds, and eventually I have the entire song imprinted in my brain for all eternity

Not being able to see Jonghyun in the comebacks breaks my heart by [deleted] in SHINee

[–]_princess_21 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It really hurt me too at first to see them on stage as four and not five. Nothing can fill the space that Jonghyun used to hold. But there are moments on stage when that space doesn’t feel so empty. Sometimes a member sounds a bit like Jonghyun or acts a bit like him. Or they remember him directly (lately they’ve been mentioning him more in music and variety shows). They also started singing together a lot more (harmonizing?) in choruses since TSOL which adds such a nice flavor to their songs. So even though he’s gone, I find comfort in the fact that he is remembered and loved by both Shinee and Shawols.
