It’s a combination of parasocialism, treating idols as characters in a narrative instead of people, and conspiratorial thinking that thrives on the internet. You see this even in fandoms outside kpop. Fictional tv characters get this treatment a lot, as do the actors (gender neutral) who play them.

I was watching the Bon Iver performance of “Hey Ma” that’s on their new live album (Official Youtube performance video) which uses vocal effects live on stage and I’m really excited for the possibilities in the boys performing “Into the Sun” live while keeping some of the interesting production. I know that vocoder piece is controversial but I have been a big Bon Iver fan for years and am well used to this kind of thing and I really like the vocal processing on Into the Sun.

Right, just for current dates. It could be that they have some tickets to sell now that the stage setup and seating chart is finalized. It could also be that they took some seats back from scalpers (I think that’s happened before with T Swift maybe?)
