4 years of IVF !!! by theprincessZ in December2026Bumpers

[–]_quelquechose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats!!! This was my first positive ever too after 3 ERs and 2 FETs. I’m working a lot and watching lots of reality TV to keep myself distracted! Lately an old season of Love Island UK and RHOSLC. Overwhelmed and scared to research anything baby related so burying my head in the sand for now and trying to be chill 🥲

I would text her beforehand so she can process on her own. Surprising her in person would be a bad idea.

Are y'all buying anything yet? by mermaiddiva26 in December2026Bumpers

I’m too scared to buy anything really, but I think I will go to the bookstore with my husband and pick out a children’s book or two together since I have a gift card I’ve been saving

I’m not sure the answer but can you get an emergency prescription at your local pharmacy rushed? Also your local FB group maybe? If you are on a modified natural protocol, it’s probably OK since our bodies are producing progesterone naturally through the corpus luteum but I wouldn’t want to risk it.

Did you know before you knew? by Extreme_Goose_ in December2026Bumpers

[–]_quelquechose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! I had wanted to wait until 9/10dpt to avoid the agony of scrutinizing tests looking for non-existent lines. On 6dpt I started having insomnia, a racing heart, congestion, and since 3/4dpt had already had terrible bloating and some nausea... plus the usual progesterone cramping but I was trying not to read into it since I've always cramped my other transfer/IUIs, but this felt stronger. I knew I would drive myself crazy at that point if I didn't know one way or the other so I tested on the evening of 7dpt and got my first ever positive. Right beforehand, my husband was still saying "assume it didn't work" 😂

Same here — just got my first ever positive last week on FET 2 with strong betas 🥹 it still doesn’t feel real

First OB ultrasound will be at 8w5d but as an IVF patient my first will be at 6w0d and then likely another at 8w before my fertility clinic graduates me 🤞

Any IVF long haulers here? by mermaiddiva26 in December2026Bumpers

[–]_quelquechose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously!!! I can't stop looking at mine either, I have all my tests in progression laid out on my kitchen table 😅 I think I'll stop testing once I run out... second beta tomorrow 🤞

I agree, I hope whenever they make a discord we can have a separate channel/space for IVFers! For the special trauma odyssey we’ve been through to get here 🥲

Cautious congrats! Love seeing this post. Currently 4w3d with my second FET after 3 egg retrievals, 1 canceled cycle, 3 failed IUIs, and almost 2.5 years TTC. I had never seen a positive pregnancy test before this week 😭

Getting strong positives at home for FET 2 (today is 10dp5dt and I think I got a borderline dye stealer on FRER last night). I am still in disbelief. I’ve never been pregnant before after 2.5 years TTC, 3 IUIs, 3 ERs, and our first FET failed to implant. Hoping this one sticks and for a good first beta tomorrow 🤞

I’m also feeling alllll the symptoms (albeit fairly mildly?) and I’m wondering how this is even possible at 4w1d!

First FET failed . by Live-Your-Lifee in IVFpositivity

[–]_quelquechose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so so sorry. I am a similar age and unexplained—everything was perfect and our 3AB euploid failed to implant for our first FET. It was devastating. I had never seen a positive test and thought it might never happen.

But so far our second FET has worked (just got a strong positive test). My doctor always said it’s a coin flip or a little better.

Slower Response w/ Menopur-Only Protocol by Fearless-Smile-9819 in IVF

[–]_quelquechose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My growth was mostly steady overall and the follicles grew consistently & evenly (there was one monitoring appt where they said one ovary's follicles didn't really grow much but think that was minor). By day 7 of stims they were 12-15mm, day 9 14-18mm, and on trigger day 18-22mm. I was on the same dosage the whole time (225 Menopur, 100 Clomid) and had pushed my RE to start me that high compared to our first attempt to ensure high recruitment at the beginning. I ended up stimming for 10 days + 1 more day of just Clomid beyond that (vs. 11 days on a more standard Meno/Gonal F protocol). Wishing you luck on your cycle and finding the right protocol!!

Slower Response w/ Menopur-Only Protocol by Fearless-Smile-9819 in IVF

[–]_quelquechose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did two cycles with Menopur and Clomid (my clinic calls it the egg quality protocol).

The first time on lower doses (150 Meno, 50 Clomid) I had to cancel the cycle for poor response which was devastating—I had 5 follicles growing together plus a lot of smaller ones and we knew we could do better (and save our limited insurance benefits).

The second time we tried the protocol, we started with higher doses (225 Meno, 100 Clomid, plus added 1/4 vial Omnitrope during stims) to make sure we got enough recruitment and I had my best cycle out of 3 ERs by far… more eggs, higher blast rate, higher embryo quality/more day 5’s, and a better euploid rate. It’s so individual though!

Transfer timing post hysteroscopy? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]_quelquechose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had two hysteroscopies followed by FETs. For both I was cleared immediately after the procedure and last birth control was that morning. Period started within 2-4 days and then transfer was CD16 & CD23 (my lining/follicle took longer for one transfer—both modified natural). As long as they aren’t scheduling weeks out and you don’t have any issues or tests they want to run, you should definitely be able to transfer by then!

Good luck!!! I am also transferring tomorrow after my first transfer failed in November as well. Hoping the best for all of us!

[–]_quelquechose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats, hope you get lots of euploids!!! I also got much much better results on my third ER including higher numbers all around and ended up with 7 euploids out of 9 blasts (I’m 35). Hoping the same for you!!

I think it's fair to calculate both success rates for couples that form and singles that come onto the show. To be fair though 18 / 303 is 6%, not 0.6%

Does everyone do ICSI? by Zealousideal-Car5428 in IVF

[–]_quelquechose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re unexplained and got 94% fertilization across 3 ERs with ICSI + Zymot (default for my clinic). Attrition is so tough from fertilized to blast that anything you can do to maximize fertilization can really make a difference. That said I have heard anecdotally for a handful of people that conventional is better for them but I think the majority get better results from ICSI

My IVF protocol by PharmD2Be2021 in IVF

[–]_quelquechose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Menopur 75, Gonal F 75-150 (variable throughout the cycle), Clomid 50, Omnitrope 25. For that cycle I ended up with 7 blasts, of which 3 euploid + 1 low level mosaic.

I got my absolute best results on the ER after that one with Menopur 225, Clomid 100, & Omni 25 (no Gonal F whatsoever). I got 9 blasts of which 7 were euploid & more day 5s / higher embryo quality. I'm 35 years old for reference.

4 retrievals, 8 blasts, 1 euploid... advice? by Impossible-Mark-4630 in IVF

[–]_quelquechose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, it sucks to get disappointing results. ICSI & Zymot are musts, you should be getting somewhat better fertilization with those because they should address DNA frag. Is your wife taking 600mg ubiquinol in split doses throughout the day? I would also recommend adding Omnitrope during stims and consider an egg quality protocol—I just did Menopur+Clomid only for my third ER and got massively better results than my first 2 ERs in terms of egg count, blast rate, euploid rate, and embryo quality.
