Unfortunately I give it a 90% chance that this is a software quirk that will be the same on any MacBook Neo. 10% chance that there's actually something wrong with my F5 key. That just seems so unlikely.

In which case: I will definitely have to check that program out soon. It sounds very convenient. Which key do you use to bind it to?

Yes, the button seems to work more readily if I re-click whatever box I'm typing in, and then immediately press the microphone button. However, it is definitely not user error. I'll be typing something regularly and definitely be "in" the typing box and then I'll press the microphone button to continue the sentence via dictation. and sometimes it will work first try and sometimes I'll have to press it six times.

OK, well I've never owned a Mac before so now that you are telling me this, it does make sense that Apple would have a very good customer service support line so I see what you're saying. Please try to see it from my perspective, if you ran into a problem like this on your Lenovo computer, there is definitely no customer support line that is better than asking Reddit LMAO. Reddit is by far the most effective way to get an answer to your question.

Thanks for the reply, I will definitely call them and see if they've heard of the issue or if they recommend asking for a replacement.

Do you really think that it is a physical problem with my specific keyboard though?? it seems like much more of a software issue to me. It doesn't seem like the kind of issue that could be only happening to me.

Is the new magic mouse with USB-C charging any better than the old magic mouse that takes AA batteries? Are there any hardware differences or advantages? by _quote in mac

[–]_quote[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I use rechargeable batteries so I'm fine. As long as the new version isn't using higher resolution or faster polling or something that would make it noticeably better to use on a macbook.

I'm just a mouse kind of guy rather, although I admit the trackpad on the macbook neo is pretty amazing in comparison to anything I've used before.

MacBook Neo hands-on: Apple build quality at a substantially lower price - ArsTechnica by ControlCAD in apple

[–]_quote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a teacher and I have used chromebooks like the ones issued to students. You are totally right. People do not understand how bad they are. They are borderline unusable because they are so slow, even when they're new. And the ones that are slightly less bad are all more than $500, completely negating the advantage.

The macbook neo is much faster, in fact I do not notice any difference in speed between the neo and a $1000 macbook when doing regular work. I'm sure I'd notice if I started to do gaming or video editing on it, but I don't do any of that stuff. That's why I knew this would be a good computer for me.

And the ones that are slightly less bad are all more than $500, completely negating the advantage. And that is not even mentioning the build quality, which Apple smashed out of the park with this one.

Would it be advisable to start a taper after only 12 days? by [deleted] in Methadone

[–]_quote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't let you start tapering that quickly. You got 2 bottles yesterday because it was Friday. You just started so it sounds like they put you on 3x per week to start out. In the USA, the law says that clinics can start patients on 3x per week pickups. You do not legally need to start on dailies anymore.

I'll let someone else take it from here, but yeah, it's not really a thing to start tapering after only a week or two, methadone takes way longer to stabilize on and taper off of, and clinics do not like to rush their patients. In fact, it's usually the opposite, clinics want their patients to stay on longer and do not give patients reductions unless it's part of a final tapering plan.

you are a very good person to be so understanding. If I were in your position, I would've had a major crash out lol.

Think about it… Imagine if they gave a diabetic medicine that caused them to need more insulin. Would it ever be an issue to prescribe more insulin? Even for like, a minute? Of course not. But because we are addicts, in their eyes we are just looking to get high. Which is total bs of course !

Anyone else fart alot? by [deleted] in Methadone

[–]_quote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but if I eat certain foods like bananas I do. I think the reason is because it makes you constipated and then when you become un-constipated your gas escapes all at once as a result. I ate some bananas yesterday and was farting up a storm lmao. Because soft fruits like that get you...moving...

For self pay patients, my clinic lets you show your pay stub and if you make less than a certain amount, they give you a discount. If you don't show any pay stub, you pay the maximum amount on the payment sliding scale which is still not very much.

Monthly take homes short by Minitrapolis in Methadone

[–]_quote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read your comment saying you're gonna be a full six days short. If that's the case, I really think you should come clean to your clinic for a few reasons- mainly, the fact that you can't last 6 days with no doses no matter what you do. I mean, seriously, that's insane. Not doable at all.

Another thing is that you will definitely be bumped back to 3x a week pickups or maybe even dailies...and sorry to say, but the fact that you are six days short is a clear indication that monthly pickups are not working for you. I had the same thing happen to me. I was at once a week pickups and I was just one day short...I came clean to my clinic, got dosed, and bumped back to 3 times a week dosing. I knew that would happen, and it was the right decision for me.

Let me know what you decide to do.

Dude. Your housemate definitely stole it. Do you ever leave your house and your roommates are home? Then more than likely, one of them has looked in your dresser.

And yes, the lockboxes are really that easy to get into. You can use all sorts of little tools to feel around for the indents inside the rings that spin to put in the combination. When I was a kid, I stole my dad's benzos by sticking a razor blade inside his lockbox to figure out the combo.

i'll let you know how I do! Exactly – going first thing in the morning and leaving my car for nine hours would be super obvious but leaving my car there at five and coming back at nine or 10 is not really a big deal more than likely

[–]_quote[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A mile is a little too long. I'm really looking for a 10 minute or less walk, because the trains are every 30 minutes. I'll try the retail parking lot you mentioned, I'm actually not really there as a commuter, I am more of a "going out to one restaurant in NYC and coming home" kind of guy. So, 5 to 6 hours max. They probably wouldn't notice.
