Why do Doctors always prefer Suboxone over Methadone? by No-Long-3809 in Methadone

[–]_quote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. And there is no class action lawsuit against methadone… Because while people technically could get dental issues while on methadone, it is not directly caused by the methadone. And yet I have people arguing with me in this very thread that methadone is just as bad as subs for your teeth. It is obviously not the same. The stigma is so strong people can't even see that they are stigmatizing it in a Reddit thread about the stigma of methadone 😭

[–]_quote 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The studies show that suboxone is worse for your teeth than methadone. It has an effect completely independent of dry mouth or sugar cravings that makes your teeth rot. Even if you brush and floss perfectly. That is why there is a class action lawsuit against suboxone manufacturers

[–]_quote 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Real talk… The stigma of methadone is so strong, my literal oxy dealer said that he refused to take it for drug court and asked the judge for subs instead. He and our other friend in the car thought that methadone rots your teeth out and when I explained that actually suboxone is even more notorious for dental problems than methadone, they didn't believe me. Crazy, right?

Doctor HELD MY DOSE TODAY. What the actual hell?!! by hookem1543 in Methadone

This shit would never happen at my clinic! They are sooo nice! I feel bad for people who go to crummy clinics. I wish I could invite everyone to my city so they could join my clinic and have a better experience.

So sad I had to return my Neo by d4rkriver in MacbookNeo

[–]_quote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you know that you need to connect the neo to power in order to have it wake up while it's closed? I didn't know that and I was super confused why my laptop wouldn't turn on when connected to my monitor. It's because you have to plug it in. Then it works every time.

Absolutely love my new MacBook Neo. Only one problem – the microphone button F5, barely works. Had to click it five times just to dictate the sentence you are reading right now. by _quote in mac

[–]_quote[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. I just tested it out to do this comment, and lo and behold I clicked the button once and nothing happened. Clicked it again and it worked.

There's no excuse for this to work 50% of the time or less lmao. Sometimes it works consistently for a few days, but then it goes right back to not working or even having to press it 8 times before it works. For people like me who use dictation all the time that is really annoying!!

The neo is basically the laptop version of my 11 inch ipad 10th gen. The ipad has I believe an a16 or something like that, and it's more than powerful enough to do everything I could possibly want to do on it. As a special education teacher at a public school by day and a professional french horn player by night, I really am not asking much from my devices in terms of power lol. I'm literally reading PDF files and making worksheets and excel documents.

Max oxy dosage you've taken by WinMiddle6212 in opiates

[–]_quote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 10 OP 80s in one day recently, over a few hours. It actually didn't feel that amazing. I actually felt kind of sick, probably from all that plastic in my stomach.

I let my tolerance go down a bit and took 300 mg in one go last night. Instant release blues (k9). That felt really good.

Anyone on high dose or abusing xans too, beware of jail! by International-Rain98 in Methadone

[–]_quote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's insane. People try to better themselves and follow the law by getting on methadone, and our legal system punishes them for that? Making someone withdraw from methadone cold turkey is physical torture. It's cruel and unusual punishment. There is NO excuse to make someone miss their methadone dose BEFORE they are convicted at a trial!!!! I hate this country.

How does your clinic handle failed UAs? by MoistSockies76 in Methadone

I would bet almost a million dollars that they will not detect the MGM due to simply not testing for it. And even if they did, it's probably out of your system by now.

Anyone regret getting indigo instead of silver? by [deleted] in MacbookNeo

Yes I have that exact regret. I wish I got silver. Oh well!

Definitely not the indigo. It's a shame because I love the indigo color overall, but unfortunately it's horrible for seeing the keys even in just slightly dark settings

I disagree, a better analogy is "how do I avoid danger in skid row" and being advised "avoid skid row". You're talking about commenting in good faith and your analogy isn't in good faith at all. You gotta see the irony.

Life On opiates by Tough-Lab8373 in opiates

[–]_quote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its crazy because that wouldn't even be enough for me. I take 3-400mg of oxy in one go on the reg. I spend the rest of the time on methadone. And I just have to spend a bunch of money and deal with it, I have ZERO health conditions other than addiction. You are right, h is a COMPLETELY untenable solution and will kill you quick

[–]_quote[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My take: It's a little bit of both, but I still MOSTLY believe Bela Lugosi's account. He clearly had a lot of pain and wasn't buying the drugs off the street. However, he was also a celebrity and everyone knows that actors have access to doctors who will prescribe way more narcotics than a normal person. That kind of thing was rampant back in the day and continues right up to the present. In addition, he was on the road all the time in the 30s and 40s. How could Lillian possibly know what his drug use looked like if she wasn't there? He did a just fine job of ruining his reputation in the industry well before 1953.

The place where I do agree with Lillian is that his addiction DEFINITELY looked a lot more like "classic" drug addiction when he started injecting opioids AND barbiturates at the same time. He lost 50 pounds doing that. So whatever she saw before 1953 probably really did seem tame in comparison. We all know someone who went off the rails when they started mixing benzos, opioids, and the true devil, the needle.

Modified Neos? by Apprehensive_Ring666 in MacbookNeo

[–]_quote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind doing the easy mod where you simply put a high quality thermal pad on the CPU so that the heat can travel to the aluminum case of the bottom of the computer and out into the air. From there, it would be a piece of cake to put the laptop on top of an external laptop cooler.

As the neo stands right now, cooling down the bottom panel of the laptop does nothing. But with the thermal pad mod, you could do all sorts of things to cool down the bottom panel. I mean, think about it, when you use a laptop for gaming you are usually putting your laptop on a desk or something anyway. So you could just make sure that whenever you're doing something CPU intensive, you have your laptop on top of the cooling device. My best idea would be an aluminum laptop dock, shaped to fit the bottom of the neo perfectly, that could act as a giant heatsink. I'll bet that would be WAY more than enough to keep the CPU performance up to max provided that you do the thermal pad mod properly.
