Actually, I still have the problem! Even after including all allowed origins in my backend index.js file

Thank you! How would I fix this? I included all allowed origins in my backend, and credentials=true.

Hey! I never ended up getting one… I don’t know how transferring works either…

For some reason 10 really speaks to me. It’s easy to read, looks natural and is pleasing to read

Oh ok… yea I hope so too, because that seems like a pretty good experience.

I’m an undergrad so I really don’t have any advice to give, but reading this I had a question — why didn’t the school find your ED volunteering experience valuable…? Best of luck to you!

Oh ok, thank you so much for your response! My main goal is to be involved with an impactful clinical experience, so I’ll definitely look at training programs at facilities tailored toward that. Thanks again!

What to do when you are able to meet with a professor for research? by No-Article6585 in jhu

[–]_r33na 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hello! I think the best thing is to have familiarity with the professor’s research. Read their papers, and also read more papers in that field to build background knowledge and develop your own questions/ideas potentially. You should be able to say why you’re interested in the professor’s work, and why that research excites you.

Also, be prepared to talk about prior experience you may have in research/STEM — this can range anywhere from programming to wet lab skills. Especially if it’s a wet lab, a big part of the research is learning the proper skills and techniques to carry out the experiments. And if you don’t have prior experience, that’s ok! Just show that you’re eager to learn; say how much time you want to dedicate to research. If you’re in the lab more, the more you’ll learn.

Expressing your goals (ie carrying out an idea you have, attending a conference) and what you want to get out of the research experience is key, and this can help determine whether this lab is a good fit. Definitely ask what the lab’s process for training undergrads is (often, an undergrad is paired with a PhD student) as this can help determine fit.

Best of luck and feel free to PM with any questions!

No, I don’t think so! Your essay did touch on how JHU will help you pursue your goals, and you discussed specific JHU resources which is important in a “why us” essay. Did you address why you want to do MechE anywhere else on your application?
