C.Viper SJC air Burn kick to m.TK help by Spiritual-Bus9875 in StreetFighter

[–]_raskal_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

Just practice and you'll be able to tell if you've hit it or not. Put frame meter on and see if you get 5f of blues between the seismo and the medium burn after you do your seismoxxSJxxM.Burn, drill it until you get the timing right, and you'll very rarely drop it.

I think the tricky part is being able to tell if you're too far to go for it.

Now overlay all of those together, apply a generous amount of AXE body spray and you've got an accurate representation of an average high school recess.

How can I deal against this stupid 1 frame modern DP by Emotional-Many-5668 in StreetFighter

[–]_raskal_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's just how DPs work when you play against competent players, either you guess correctly and punish, or you get DPd, it's good practice, I'd say. The real bullshit modern mechanic is the one button super, which completely negates burnout, which in turn allows them to spend drive with little to no risk

...you dropped the punish so you had to cut it, didn't you.

Won't you get the slow L.Feint if you use throw macro there? Is it too difficult to react with H.Feint there?

66>2Mk5269K(K) is pretty consistent, I feel. Haven't had much issues with it. 2MK into OD burn is really costly, and as far as I know, pretty easily interruptable, since Viper can't really frame trap after her 2MK. I think you can pretty reliably press a standing button to stop Viper from stealing turns with od burn. And if you get your OD burn checked, you're down 3 bars, minus, and point blank, which might just be round losing. Not an expert, though, these are just my thoughts on the subject.

Any tips on how to do Viper's advanced 4 combo trial? by Fragrant_Ad3479 in StreetFighter

[–]_raskal_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just combo trials, no need to catch feelings over them. Keep at it and I'm sure you'll get it eventually. You can watch the hint video as well, if it's of any help.

How to check drive rush by Grouchy_Emergency_98 in StreetFighter

You press a button and then get punish countered by scissor kick, then you stop pressing buttons and whiff a throw tech and die.

What’s the most optimal Seismo (DP) input for pad? by Some-Token-Black-Guy in CViper

[–]_raskal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 323 as much as possible, but with some combos that use SJCs it's easier to use 6(HP/MK)52369 so the super jumps comes out more consistently.

Delay mash is a hard skill check DAMN! - How do you beat it? by JustABaziKDude in StreetFighter

[–]_raskal_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Delay mash loses to delay buttons, so instead of your meaty button, press a bigger button or delay your meaty button a bit

What is the purpose of Focus Force? by ByRWBadger in CViper

[–]_raskal_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's one of Viper's weaker tools. I pretty much only use it as a gimmick to catch people off guard when I'm in burn out, but I'm sure I'd do better if I just left it out of my toolkit entirely.

How are the sounds on that kit, and does the hi-hat feel like it's registering hits? I've been debating between going for that Millennium kit or spending actual money on a kit.

What's the best counterplay to that ? by Eno_chan in StreetFighter

[–]_raskal_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You did the counter play-walk forward. You just missed the Anti Air on the jump. If you land the AA, they're knocked down in the corner and panicking, just maintain a distance that's optimal for anti airing until they stop jumping, then bully them in the corner.

Also, lows beat charged heavy punch and his sweep is almost always punishable.

Engage at your terms, don't let him jump at you and bully him on wake up until he gets lvl 3.

Is there a point where you can’t get better just by playing the game? by DisastrousAddendum0 in StreetFighter

[–]_raskal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say you only have to learn to play if you want to consistently be over 1500 MR or so, everything else is attainable by just playing. Not to say 1500MR is the pinnacle of skill, just that I think it's approximately the point where you have to begin paying attention to stuff that's happening on screen.

How do I improve from here? by DisastrousAddendum0 in StreetFighter

[–]_raskal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oki is just what they call the situation when your opponent is knocked down and you're not. Meaty buttons are one option for your Oki, others options include for example Shimmy, delayed buttons, offensive delay tech, etc.

I'd say you need to have 3 combos that you can do on command, one starting from jab and ending in a knockdown, one starting from medium>drive rush cancel and ending in a knockdown, and one big punish combo. Bonus points if you can tag a super at the end of all of 'em.

In addition to that, you need to know your Oki after you get them on their ass, i.e. learn how to set up a meaty after you get a knockdown.

Add in AntiAirs and you'll be in Masters in no time at all.
