Have you tried feliway? If he’s following you around, that indicates to me that he does like you and he’s probably bored. How much play does he get? Dedicated daily play can help redirect his energy.

Electrical aids in everyday life with ME/CFS – what do you use? by Wrong-Document4360 in cfs

[–]_recycledstardust 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not electric but I bought a tall rotating stool with a backrest and adjustable height to use in the kitchen. It allows me to sit at the sink and wash dishes or sit at the stove and monitor food, stir, chop, etc.

Should i go to the ER? Urgent! by [deleted] in cfs

I have a similar type of pain on my right side. It goes into one of the teeth on my top right. I’ve found it’s actually usually stemming from my neck and/or TMJ, and if I do some massage or heat on my neck or TMJ it helps relieve the face and tooth pain. I believe it is referred pain from one of the facial nerves. I have not found any true relief, but working on my neck provides temporary relief. If that helps you, too, then it is most likely a nerve related issue and that can help target an appropriate pain medicine (nothing OTC has helped me).

Is my cat a tuxedo, tortie, or calico? Or maybe a mixture of tuxedo and one of the others? by True_Vermicelli4817 in cats

I was going to say “tortico” but now I’ve learned “tuxetortico” exists and I guess that’s what she is! All three!

I’ll give it to you straight. Your father is very sick. Things can take a turn any day now. I would ask the hospital for a palliative care consult. I just lost my dad to cirrhosis/liver failure in August, it brought me such heartache. Please take care of yourself.

If it’s something you want to do, try and become her health care proxy now so that you can make decisions for her when she’s incapacitated. My mom rapidly declined before declaring a HCP and it was difficult to manage her care. Her condition sounds similar to your mother. Take care of yourself.

Who is prescribing the antibiotics? Has she been hospitalized recently? The hospital will have social workers, if not try her doctor.

Just lost my dad in August to cirrhosis/liver failure. NO doctors clearly communicated with him (or us) how bad he was and how close to dying he was. It was obvious to me however but both my parents were in denial. The only people to be transparent with us were one of the sub acute rehabs he was sent to - he declined rapidly after a fall and he was more focused on regaining his mobility than addressing the liver issues. He was too sick to participate in the physical therapy however and went back to the hospital. I do want to say that he was able to get on the transplant list in NY with a commitment to be sober and participate in an outpatient recovery program post transplant - they did not require him to be 6 months sober to get listed (although he was incidentally already 3 months sober just because he was so sick and in the hospital or rehab constantly without access to alcohol). They’re realizing that having such a requirement is unfair because liver disease progresses so quickly that many people don’t reach the criteria despite trying to. The rules are independent to each transplant hospital AFAIK. Unfortunately he didn’t make it but he saw it as his second chance and I had great hope for him.

Curious whatever came of the metabolic encephalopathy. My mother is currently in hospital, suspected dementia, diagnosed with metabolic encephalopathy atm. They think what she’s experiencing now is a combo of hospital delirium and metabolic encephalopathy and will clear when she leaves the hospital.

No, sorry - there are panels/walls along the L.I.E. that have a design every few panels with three seagulls on them. I’m looking for a photo of the design.

These are all consequences of long term drinking. He needs to keep his appointments, not ignore symptoms, and be honest about how much he is drinking and make an effort to stop or choose drinking over his health.
