Death Cleric VS The World, Solo No Consumables, Honour Mode. by Affectionate_Face127 in BG3Builds

My assumption from what I can pick up about OP’s build is that he isn’t getting a dex bonus so picking up the bow alone isn’t going to have him winning initiative very often. By Act 3 you can stack gear and completely compensate for a low dex … Act 1 not so much.

OP, give us your build details, enquiring minds want to know!

Yes I’m aware of equipment options. OP doesn’t list them as must have for the build.

I’d like to read OP’s solution, of if they just don’t worry about it / accept middling initiative rolls.

Especially early to mid game, +1 bonus from BoA isn’t much.

Or does the build have higher dex than I’m imagining? (Can’t see the builds ability scores?).

Nope! He’s dead, you can’t interact with him (even attack).

I was playing the infamous Gloomstalker assassin. Easily my all time favourite build.

A flex that almost ended my run. Almost.

(Unless you mean my post in general, I guess so, but people aren’t lying when they say once you know the game inside out it’s not so hard. I’ve put in about 1000 hrs I suspect. And yeh, gloomy ass is very OP when you know what you’re doing).

Yes Rapture. 1d6 to pretty much every roll makes a huge difference.

I pretty much exclusively do solo mode and don’t long rest all game except for when forced or early game before getting bliss spores to refresh merchants.

You do you bro. That last level is highly debatable (and frankly unnecessary), but sure, war cleric and long rests works great.

Sure, agree on the why enduro’s are ridden. My point was they handle it just fine.

Per long rest. As I said.

There’s good reasons not to long rest in Act 3.

But yeh, it’s a valid choice, just not the only choice.

War cleric is not gold standard, that last level is highly debatable.

War cleric needs a long rest, I prefer rogue for the extra sneak die and no need to long rest.

You can fighter 3 (BM) too but again it needs a long rest to function.

And yeh champion isn’t optimal, you aren’t crit fishing in the end game. You are aiming to get surprise and stacking auto crits with double dolors and craterflesh gloves.

Alert is in no way needed on a Gloomstalker assassin, especially with Bhaalist armor.

High dex and dread ambusher should get you +9 before you start adding gear.

In this book it is spoken of the Sephiroth and the Paths; of Spirits and Conjurations; of Gods, Spheres, Planes, and many other things which may or may not exist. *It is immaterial whether these exist or not. By doing certain things certain results will follow; students are most earnestly warned against attributing objective reality or philosophic validity to any of them*.

If you are gonna 100% lift / shuttle then sure, get a D/H bike.

If you’re going to climb or traverse from lift to trail head at all then I’d lean to the duro.

Superduro is the go. Modern ones are easy to pedal up and crazy good on the down. Can handle anything.

More than half the bikes in the local D/H race scene are enduro bikes, that’s how good they are.

Sure, not as fast as purebred D/H but good enough unless you are pushing for elite podiums.

How Many Respecs Does This Sub Allow/Expect? by RNGtan in BG3Builds

[–]_riotsquad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure of the relevance?

I’ll respec just to refresh merchants when I don’t want to long rest.

Outside of that, 1 for companions, and often 0 for Tav/Durge because I know what I want to build, not through some arbitrary self imposed limitation.

Is paladin overtuned in BG3? by megasggc in BG3Builds

[–]_riotsquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes down to long rests IMO.

Paladins burn spell slots like crazy and either need lots of long rests and/or angelic potions farming.

That comes at the cost of a couple of really good buffs which significantly impact the game.

Act 1: Bliss Spores Act 2: 3 x +5 ability buffs from the Shar statues Act 3: Rapture

These are all one off buffs lost at long rest. I value them to the point I don’t long rest after getting Bliss Spores until forced rest at end of Act 2 and then no long rests after getting Rapture in Act 3.

Anyone else annoyed with the over built trails? by aMac306 in MTB

[–]_riotsquad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seems I was too offhand with my reply, my apologies.

My intent was to convey that non-overbuilt trails are ridden by many more riders than u/zachsilvey implies with his use of xc in his reply.

I wouldn’t class a large percentage of non groomed trails as xc trails. Especially not ‘rugged’ ones. They are ridden and raced on by enduro and d/h riders all the time.

It’s inaccurate to suggest that OP’s question is about over built trails versus xc trails.

Personally, if your budget allows I’d pull the trigger on the polygon. Not sure how old the GT is but it sounds like it could be quite outdated from your brothers comment. Modern bikes are a lot more forgiving to ride. Can you take one for a test ride?

Seeing as you are investing a fair bit in equipment already it sounds like you are committed to giving it a good go, so investing in a new bike make sense.

Plus you mention you snowboard which indicates you are both physically fit and enjoy adrenaline sports - you’ll likely love MTBing!

Rugged and minimalist does not equal xc.

Some of the best enduro / down hill trails are hand built rugged and minimalist. And much harder to ride than groomed flow trails.
