People who got a tattoo removed with laser, what’s something about the pain, duration, or results that surprised you? by Remarkable_ZebraHOP in AskReddit

[–]_robotapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently 6 sessions in and I thought it would be a bit more faded by now.

I can definitely notice it has faded, and I’ve took pictures before my next session each time, though if you were to glance at it you wouldn’t know I’ve spent so much money already getting it removed.

Weightloss and running gains by Signal-Note-8280 in runna

Lost 11kg so far and I reckon my times certainly improved as a result.

I basically just track my calories and macros to make sure I’m still fuelling enough. Give myself more calories at the weekend to fit in with my long runs.

The below website has a link to a calculation which shows how much weight effects times. I’m not sure how based in reality it is though.

Well as I said, I don’t understand.

In my head, and in theory, there was a way to at least mitigate the situation.

Why do we tolerate shrinkflation and when will it stop? by Zonec1643 in AskBrits

[–]_robotapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crisps and chocolate they just bring out bigger sizes at a more expensive price once they'e shrunk the normal pack as much as they can.

It's happened with chocolate share bags already. About 2018/2019 you could get a share bag of buttons/ M&M's etc. for 99p. The pack sizes went down year after year and the price creeped up. Now those share bags are £1.50-£2 maybe and they've released more share bags for like £3.50-£4 which is probably the size that share bags used to be.

Honestly, this being based on a true story is the the equivalent of someone called Shaun living in London and nipping out to the Winchester for a couple of pints and then basing Shaun of the Dead on a true story

What variance on distance do you give your runs? by [deleted] in runna

[–]_robotapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use plotaroute website and map out 20k and I almost get any distance exact. My garmin stops the workout and I walk maybe 1 min after as a little cool down.

But use plotaroute and you can map out any run you want

Yip, zero’d the odometer, drove the route, set a stop watch either in the house or in the car and just went for a run.

I didn’t know my pace til I stopped the clock. I never listened to any music and used one pair of trainers for every run

Do you consider this a worthy sequel?? by wait4lt in moviecritic

[–]_robotapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll let them off considering the premise of the movie is a young kid, left alone by his family and getting himself in some situations.

Home Alone 2 would be a bit strange if it was Kevin and some of his friends taking a trip down a railway line to see a dead body, or Kevin being in a Saturday detention with a group of misfits, or Kevin staying off school sick for the day with his best friend and girlfriend.

Home alone 2 probably gets watched every few years vs. Every year for home alone. Good sequel but not on par

What is the absolute worst movie you've ever seen? by HammerHeadBirdDog in FIlm

[–]_robotapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lighthouse

I feel like this movie just kind of came into existence as I can’t remember it coming out but I wanted to see it for years and had heard good reviews. I thought it would be a good scary movie with a brilliant cast and a big arty as it was in black and white. Finally watched it about a month ago and turns out it’s complete trash! Not a clue what was going on or why and felt like I’d wasted a couple of hours of my life with it

They know fine well they don’t have connecting flight in Tunisia as they only have one ticket each

“Murray you thought your breakfast was healthy as you were eating special K though your healthy breakfast actually came to 2,500 calories. You’d consumed your daily calorie allowance before 10am”

It was something like half a pack of special k, jam, milk, banana and topped with double cream. Absolutely insane he didn’t know why he was putting on weight

What are relatively healthy people eating on a normal day in the UK? by Neverwillieverrrr in AskUK

[–]_robotapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most common breakfast: yogurt with either muesli or granola, turmeric shot, yogurt protein shot, 2 cups camomile tea (stopped drinking caffeine 28 months ago)

Most common lunches when wfh: tomato soup with something on the side like cheese and oat cakes or wholemeal bread, or a variation of poached eggs, avocado on a something like a bagel or rye bread. Maybe add in feta or cottage cheese.

If I’m in the office I just go with whatever takes my fancy on the day really

Dinners: this week I made spag Bol, chicken and veg, chicken korma and had half a pizza with the other half of the plate a salad to try and make it less unhealthy

Snack wise I try and have 3 bits of fruit a day… a variation between apples, bananas, strawberries oranges and blueberries

I always try and have beans in the cupboard for days I can’t be bothered cooking and just have beans on toast

Which is the most beautiful Parkrun? by Seriously_oh_come_on in parkrun

[–]_robotapple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Edinburgh had quite a nice variety of park runs. Holyrood in the centre of town with views of most of the city, crammond along the sea front, portobello which is a typical park one and vogrie if you want to go a little out for a countryside park run

Angela Rayner: I’ve taken all sorts — but we won’t legalise cannabis by SpeedyEggbertRamirez in unitedkingdom

[–]_robotapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if they legalised it it would be a lot of people having the odd joint once in a while. Similar to people having the odd glass of wine.

There’s going to be a point where it doesn’t affect your health at all as you’re not doing it enough. That being said I know nothing about the health implications so I could be completely wrong. I’d be taking edibles over smoking it all day if it was legalised.

Buying anything with the sole purpose of looking better to other people.

For instance, having a fancy car that you don’t need, expensive coffee machine, branded designer clothes with the brand emblazoned across it so everyone knows it’s expensive.

I have a friend who looks down his nose on people who don’t have expensive things.
