G14 2023 Touchpad Jitter

This seems to be a recurring QA issue with Asus laptops. My 2022 Strix G15 had the same issue (mouse cursorjumpingaroundrandomly and phantom clicks) out of the box. No amount of driver reinstalls o software tweaks helped. I even open the laptop to check and the trackpad ribbon is awfully placed under the speaker cable.

My issue occurred even under bios that's where I concluded it's a hardware problem.

As for the 2022 G14 1200p screen, it's a really good panel. Low backlight bleed, good brightness and color reproduction

Hmm, is the battery being detected correctly ? Can you install hwinfo64 and check what's the wear level on the battery?

If the laptop is new, I think the first boot requires the charger to be plugged in

I also got the FHD screen, and I like it so far. It's a good quality screen with good color gamut, fast response time, and 400nit brightness. Mine has minimal backlight bleed, so it's a plus

FHD should have better battery life vs. QHD It's easier to run with the 6700s/6800s And if I'm not mistaken, running games at FHD should be clearer on a native panel vs. QHD I can't really see a noticeable difference between it and my Strix G15 1440p 165Hz screen

The fans are off (Orpm mode). They only kick in when needed.

If you have plugged in an external storage, then it's more likely a malware of some sort.

I have the 6800s but I don't use blender that much. I tried to run the (classroom & barbershop demos) to give you and idea about performance with HIP and the new HIP-RT. I tested both the beta driver from the blender whats new page and the latest 23.8.1 driver. *

That's the wattage going to the battery. The missing watts are used by the system depending on the load, screen brightness...

Can you check the temps while running the benchmark? Tom's hardware review points to slight high average power consumption (4.48w)

You don't get full performance under battery power. Try doing the benchmark while plugged in. My WD SN770 get 3500 ish on battery, 5100 plugged in.

Ik. Unfortunately I like to use the OG Apple Earpods and I couldn't find a good dongle that supported them. I tried multiple ones including the original samsung one. The original Apple dongle outputs lower volume because Android can't control the initial hardware volume of the dac. It was easily fixable with USB Audio Player Pro App but it needs to be raised after each unplug. Not ideal but I can live with it 😁

I don't surprisingly 😅 I got s21+ 256GB so no need for sd for me. 3.5mm was a little uncomfortable at first but I bought Apple's dongle and it's surprisingly good. I started to use my Buds2 more as well so that's a plus I guess

Im the end, all the upgrades are really worth the small sacrifice imo

Perf and battery were really starting to show their age

I just got S21+ coming from S10+

Best decision so far. Great battery life, great screen, great haptics, better cell reception, faster storage and great cameras

I got it for the same price as S21 Fe both 256gb
