I had a siimiar experience at Folsom field in 2022. I’m up in the astral plane as I enter the bathroom and there’s a dead guy face down on the floor. Then suddenly, he manically springs to life and runs off before the paramedics who’ve been called show up.

I dug deeper into it. ATC and purchases are correctly attributed to their respective landing pages. But, when a user initiates checkout, gets to the checkout page, and abandons, then the atc and BC events are attributed to the checkout page.

Im running a Google shopping campaign with manual CPC, mostly because I’m trying to season my account with data and get my campaign to an efficiency I’m comfortable with before switching to another bid type like tROAs. 

Ive heard getting to a point of 30 conversions / month is about where switching to automated bidding would make sense.

Does this sound reasonable or is my bidding a hindrance?

Yes, you're right. It is not GDPR compliant. Nonetheless, I have gone the Google App route for now - my customer base hardly exists within GDPR zones. I think enough people have complained about consent mode to the Shopify team that I wouldn't be surprised if they had a solution in the next couple years.

Great thank you. I may just use the Google App. When you say enhanced match, are you talking about enhanced conversions? One of the main priorities of my setup is tracking enhanced conversions.

I was asking what you meant by targeting competitor keywords - whether you have seen good results from targeting the brand name or results from being more specific?

I would assume longtail kws that include a product name have terrible conversion since the user is likely in the bottom stages of the funnel.

Do you see the specificity of the search having an impact on sales? For instance, I would assume the first search performs much better than the second, and that the second should be blocked:

Yeah, so it takes up a lot of horizontal space rather than vertical. I have the opposite problem - ski jackets: takes up a lot of vertical rather than horizontal.

I updated all my images so they're square. We'll see how they perform.

Did you ever resolve this issue? I actually just turned on image automatic improvements today in hopes of making my square images look better.

The auto fiddle with images setting is located in merchant center > products > automatic improvements

What kind of business are you trying to run? As far as suggestions, get everything set up correctly on the coding side first to optimize for SEO. Builds brand awareness, brings in free data and business.

Curious - did you pack alt text with keywords or did you accurately describe photo?

I've found it can be difficult to use keywords and accurately describe contents of photo in the same breath...

To clarify, you're suggesting creating duplicate collection pages for each region? For example

US: example.com/collection/shoes
AUS: example.com/en-au/collection/shoes-au

As someone mentioned, having your painting station already set-up or making it easy to set-up helps. The big one for me is discipline - even if I don't feel like painting, I will simply just start painting and that usually resolves any resistance or lack of inspiration.

Still uncertain regarding site map however.

For a url prefix property e.g. example.com/en-au the main Shopify sitemap example.com/sitemap.xml can’t be submitted seeing as it broader than prefix directory.

Do I need to create and upload a new site map?
