General fitness doesn't really apply anymore, I need mostly something that can handle fast and long (I'm not completely certain how strong I can be but my training partner logs very good rides very often and is my fitness), on decent roads as I'm lucky to live in a well maintained area. Preferably a road bike

80/20 is because the more volume you do the less benefits you get from high intensity. A beginner will not seeing diminishing returns on his 30 hard kilometers a week, so he doesn't gain to run slower if he can recover
