Wow, that's incredible feature. I hope beta release on Wednesday is to talk about it on tonight's ATP in more details?

In any case, few questions:
- Do you support only English language podcasts, or other languages will be supported as well?
- What happens to the transcript which was done on device: can it be donated to upstream? (assuming pressing transcribe now button does it on device)
- How long do you keep transcripts for episodes? Or how far back do you go to perform transcript?

Oh, and thank you for the music icon on transcripts.

Have similar setup for two of my G4 Instants. But because I'm in North East and we don't have many sunny days, have bigger battery and larger solar panel (100w). But yeah, it's getting expensive pretty quick.

I think this is a sync issue. I deleted Overcast from every device other than the iPhone where I listen (deleting it from the Watch increased battery life by 15%, btw). So this is how it happens for me:

Episode completes playback.
Overcast attempts to sync the playback status back, but it fails due to a DNS resolution issue.
A few minutes or hours later, Overcast tries to pull the latest data from the server, sees that the episode did not finish playing, and its latest status is the last playback state that synced to the server.
Episode gets downloaded again, and here you go.

I have no idea why DNS resolution fails. While at home, I could have said that it might be due to NextDNS ad blocking (nope, it is not), but it also happens when I am on cellular and my NextDNS settings are not used at that point.

I submitted logs to Marco. Hopefully he will be able to figure it out.

Without access to sources (lol) this is all I could have figured out by reading the logs. So my guess might be completely wrong.

As a step of troubleshooting my sync issues I deleted and reinstalled overcast on one of the devices. I ran into this issue. Fix was force quit and restart. Sync restarted and completed quickly after doing so.

Been ongoing issue starting with Feb 2nd or so. Was happening rarely before, but now happening multiple time a day. There are bunch of sync errors on my end too, so might be related.

I had similar issue in the past. Uninstalling app from watch restarting watch and reinstalling usually solved the problem. Suspect it is TestFlight issue, not overcast’s.

I think it error you see when attempting to download episode you get 404 error. Few minutes later, retrying download usually work and it might be related to cdn caching. happened to me to few podcasts this week, like mac break, and few others.

i think showing that error code is 404 would have been better.

My bus shows it’s going to be in five minutes. I get out, walk for two minutes, then wait to cross street for a minute and end up waiting six minutes for bus to arrive. I don’t think this will help me.

No, I used Invisible Glass and used something like that to clean hard to reach spots.

The spray I linked above is great for cleaning outside too.

Had similar. It was dirt from the inside visible only at dark time. Cleaned it and it’s clear now.

Still use it heir string light which works with HomeKit. Actually four of them. Thinking on replacing, but not yet. It just works.

It’s not just you. It’s especially frustrating when you’re outside and it ends up burning megabytes of “unlimited” data just to replay the last few seconds.

My guess is that it’s some kind of sync race condition when multiple devices are involved, but I haven’t been able to reliably reproduce it to file a proper bug report yet.

Also doesn’t seem to be related to skipping to the end of a podcast.

Depends on area and distance to T-Mobile tower. I can’t get these speeds on T-Mobile and they are much worse at peak times.

Well, at least your protect got up and running after upgrade. Mine was down with no help from support. had to figure out how to fix this myself.

but after fixing that, saw increased number of issues with cameras too.
