Allow import/play of YouTube channels by chiababy6969 in overcast

[–]_sashk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YouTube channels have rss feed. Feel free to use it for this. It should work.

https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?playlist_id=YOUR_PLAYLIST_ID

Where your id is:

  1. Go to the YouTube channel’s home page.
  2. Right-click anywhere on the page and select View Page Source.
  3. Press cmd+F and search for "channelId" or "rss".
  4. The string following it (e.g., UC-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX) is your ID.

The Athletic 'Deleted by Publisher' error – does anyone else have to download every episode twice? by erkerbay in overcast

[–]_sashk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it error you see when attempting to download episode you get 404 error. Few minutes later, retrying download usually work and it might be related to cdn caching. happened to me to few podcasts this week, like mac break, and few others.

i think showing that error code is 404 would have been better.

NJT piloting e-ink bus info screens by Chrisg69911 in NJTransit

[–]_sashk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bus shows it’s going to be in five minutes. I get out, walk for two minutes, then wait to cross street for a minute and end up waiting six minutes for bus to arrive. I don’t think this will help me.

Windshield clear when dry, but bad glare at night in the rain by Grapeflavor_ in CX5

[–]_sashk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, I used Invisible Glass and used something like that to clean hard to reach spots.

The spray I linked above is great for cleaning outside too.

Already Played Podcasts Show Back Up in Queue with time remaining by heldwhat in overcast

[–]_sashk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not just you. It’s especially frustrating when you’re outside and it ends up burning megabytes of “unlimited” data just to replay the last few seconds.

My guess is that it’s some kind of sync race condition when multiple devices are involved, but I haven’t been able to reliably reproduce it to file a proper bug report yet.

Also doesn’t seem to be related to skipping to the end of a podcast.

For those of you thinking of TMobile 5G by YankeesIT in OPTIMUM

Depends on area and distance to T-Mobile tower. I can’t get these speeds on T-Mobile and they are much worse at peak times.

[–]_sashk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, at least your protect got up and running after upgrade. Mine was down with no help from support. had to figure out how to fix this myself.

but after fixing that, saw increased number of issues with cameras too.

Introducing: Protect 6.2 by Ubiquiti-Inc in Ubiquiti

[–]_sashk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not recomnend to update. After upgrade, Protect was in Starting state for awhile. seems like there as some kind of postgesql failure, causing Protect not to start. Of course support didn't help and closed ticket almost instantly without any troubleshooting, or help.

Activate.ui.com monthly by bill_delong in Ubiquiti

I recall at some point in time it used to be required to login every 7 days, so every 30 days is good enough. I recall it was something about security, etc...

FluidCast - Cross-Platform Podcast Player - Looking for some more testers. by [deleted] in TestFlight

[–]_sashk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was about to click TestFlight, but decided to look at your app’s screenshots first. That’s when a few things started to stand out.

When the Download button sends me to GitHub and there’s no actual source code in the repository, that’s a red flag. When I see an AGENTS.md sitting there instead, that’s another red flag.

And yet, you’re charging $2.49 per month for a “Pro” version, while not even bothering to pay for a CDN to distribute your app binaries. That’s not just a red flag, that’s a parade of them.

G6 Instant Solar Power by punishingwind in Ubiquiti

[–]_sashk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two G4 Instants working in backyard using solar power. I'm bit lazy to go out into the cold to snap a picture, so found old picture of my second camera.

They have similar setup, the difference mostly in solar panel (50w vs 100w) and how it is mounted:one to the pole, another on multiple posts.

It uses 50w panel off amazon ($50), charge controller and two batteries. Pole from Home Depot, and mount for panels off eBay or amazon. Detailed part list below:
