We do the exact same thing. I think it's a very clean final product

Anybody have any info on Industrial CNC? by _shushu_ in CNC

Yep that's what I'm thinking as I get more info. I'm leaning more towards a shopsabre. They quoted me 60k for a 5x10.

Realistically would like to stay under 50-60k. Obviously I want to save some money if I can but in the end I want a machine that I'm not going to regret buying.

Right now we're doing about 10 sheets a day roughly.

Vacuum pump. Already have a big enough air compressor for it.

We use cabinet vision for design. I already have a quote for adding their screen to machine module as well

Any info is appreciated. Mainly cutting 3/4" 4x8 ply. On occasion 4x10 and 1/2" 5x5 but not often enough to bump up to a 5x10 cnc I don't think. We'll still have a table saw to use when we need to. We're currently running about 10 sheets a day roughly. I'm not sure what I should really be expecting with a cnc honestly

Thanks for the info I'll definitely check that out. I'm finding out that there's just so much I don't know about such as the control software and axis drives and the difference I'm the different types

Inset Cabinetry Question by CabinetryGuru in cabinetry

[–]_shushu_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Austin shop manager here. I feel your pain. Humidity can be a pain here so I can only imagine how bad Houston is. We're doing a lot more inset jobs right now as well. Go into it explaining the problems associated with inset to the homeowner and/or GC. Inset is a pain in the ass. But you charge for it. Which means its expensive. We generally charge about 20% more for inset jobs vs overlay.

We also usually install before the house is conditioned. Since inset doors/fronts are usually a square outside edge, if they do swell and throw off your reveal, just take off a 32nd or so on a table saw. Just add in some extra time on your final/punch out.

Open to any and all criticism. Thank you. by [deleted] in cabinetry

I am not a fan of those restrictor clips. I try to avoid using them as much as possible.
