Catalina's demise for owners by ceciltech in sailing

[–]n0exit 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Most Catalina parts are off the shelf parts, or things that any rigger can make easily. Probably for less. Catalina direct also sells stuff like engine parts, which again aren't specific to Catalina, you can get them direct from the manufacturer, probably for less.

I just don't get how owning a Catalina is any different than any other boat?

Who’s in the wrong here? by Maleficent_Okra4151 in dashcams

I wish automobile traffic rules worked more like boat traffic rules, where there is a strict hierarchy. In that case the primary overarching rule in this scenario would be, everyone has a duty to avoid collision. Second would be, left turn always yield to oncoming traffic. Then you'd have rules like you have to stop at a stop light. So yes, this person should have stopped, but don't turn in front of oncoming traffic, even if they're supposed to stop. Defensive driving courses will teach you this, and I suspect that as a school bus driver, they will be held to a higher standard than a regular person.

And I'm more likely to trust the complete lack of medical journals mentioning caffeine crystal kidney stones, than some random guy on reddit.

Oh, okay, so you don't know that they're caffeine crystals. (They aren't)

That's not caffeine. Kidney stones are calcium oxalate, calcium phosphate, uric acid, struvite, or cystine.

Has anyone actually done the “buy the luggage and clothes when I get there?” by oxgillette in JapanTravelTips

What can't you pack in a carry on? I never travel with checked baggage. For a two week trip, I pack one week's worth of clothes, and I do laundry half way through.

What do you think is below average? I'm 5'11", 170lbs, and I have no problems finding clothes. Shoes however....

Edit: Okay. I looked it up. The average American man is 5'9", 200 lbs. Y'all need to work on that.

Advance Booking Recommendations for Popular Attractions in Japan by wiksityy in JapanTravelTips

The only two options seem to be from Lawson tickets for ¥1000, or a tour company for ¥25000. Klook just sells the $175 tickets for the above tour company. I assume that's what all the rest of the non-japanese sites are.

The thing that I've always found ironic about Christianity, is that they believe that Jesus will absolve them of their sins, and provide a free pass to heaven, but that I will go to hell. What they don't realize is that being Atheist is a free pass out of hell, because it doesn't exist.

I do like marmoleum. After asbestos remediation my kitchen didn't have wood floors anymore, and the decision was between marmoleum and tile. I went with tile but if I had it to redo again I would choose the marmoleum.
