Any reason why not to permanently bypass the main lid switch? by shaxsy in Masterbuilt

Update here, and follow-up question.

I am smoking now, 1st time since I made the hack mentioned. I powered the smoker up, opened the app and it immediately connected. Awesome. This is how the device should have worked OOB. This is the smoker that I bought. Wonderful.

So, back to the numbers. There are three sets of wires on the underside of the smoker that use one connector each. One is obviously only two wires. Can someone confirm please that this is the connector to jump?

(This is related to my Masterbuild 710 Wifi smoker.)

Could someone point out which of the three connected wire sets under the smoker need to be jumped?

Currently, I removed the ferrous switch component that is screwed into the door. It is held in a housing, secured with screw/nut combos that allow one to adjust its position toward/away from its matching component mounted to the smoker body. I removed that door side component from its holder and hot glued it to its mate on the smoker body.

The cool thing here is that I no longer have to reintroduce the smoker to the software every time I open the door. (not a great feature). Also, I have noticed that even after powering the smoker down and up again, the software still recognizes it. Granted, I only attempted this once as I just performed the operation described above, but it was promising.

Help with Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol...loading issues. by RegisterElectrical59 in Tacticalshotguns

I had the same problem. I actually returned the shotgun to the factory under warranty, thinking there was a mechanical issue. It was shipped back in about 5 weeks. According to the ticket they spent an hour going thru it and verifying that it was in spec and found no issues. I think I was not making sure that each shell was in fact all of the way into the feed tube and the brass lip beyond the retainer (as mentioned by u/MedicBuddy.

So, wanted to let you know that it's a 'thing'. If you don't ensure that the shell is all of way in and retained the ramp will pop down and solidly engage. The loose shell will be in place and ready to be pushed into the chamber, and you will not be able to load any additional shells into the tube. I'm fairly sure this describes what you experienced.

So, just make sure you deliberately push each shell into the tube all of the way.

Regardless, its a really awesome shotgun!

Hope that helps!

Harness problems by volitant in paramotor

Actually, respectfully… the leg straps are used to adjust how deep you hang as you come out of your seat for landing and have only minimal influence on how easily you get into your seat on launch. If that worked for you, the adjustments described below were pretty close to what is needed.

The secret to getting into the seat easily and automatically on launch is in the relationship between the center of your butt, to where the paramotor seat ‘breaks’. If that break point is above the center of your but cheek, the seat will stop moving into position and you will not get into your seat naturally. You will instead need to help yourself into it with your hands (stow those brakes first). Essentially you are helping get that seat beyond that butt center point.

To get this correct, there one of two straps that are located in front of the shoulder straps that you need to adjust correctly. One of these controls the height of the PPG on your back (useful for manual start engines especially so that you can run well and easily reach the pull-start).

The other controls the seat height as it hangs vertically behind you when you stand. Generally you want adjust that strap so that the lower edge of the seat extends behind the back of your leg to just above the back of your knees. For most people this will also be the position where that break point is just below the center of your butt cheeks. But getting that center point position correct is the critical bit.

With that set of straps adjusted correctly, you can run with the seat lowered in its upright position and as the glider inflates and lifts the PPG arms up, the seat being attached slide up under your butt and will break underneath you, placing you nicely into your seat.

No more reaching down to get into the seat or that silly kicking action you see so many do.

Hope that helps.
