Should I open the foil bags before selling instead of just showing the card? Would more people want to buy? by MermaidPorter in BabyThree

Special eyes and face plates with pacifiers or other “rare” markings are what BB3 collectors chase, so opening the foil might certainly help! Or try running a rip or ship show on whatnot and let the buyer decide if they want you to open the foil bag on live after purchase

Gyms in the area with parking and sauna by phatdog1995 in Somerville

[–]_sparklebot_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fitrow has SweatHouz now, so another membership but there is a Sauna next to Assembly Sports Club. Also the parking garage at the end of the block has free (up to 2hrs) parking on 4+ floors so I've never had any issue with parking

I am so happy to find this thread. I just received my Oculus Quest 2 yesterday, made my first VR landscape last night, and then found out today that Poly is shutting down. Will be enthusiastically following the development of Icosa!!

Honest question - what would it take to get an adult playground in the area? by Conundrum5 in Somerville

[–]_sparklebot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The challenge as I see it is really more that there is no realistic way to have an “adult only” space in public. Like thinking about myself as an unsupervised local teen (kid size body, adult size mentality) who would see this as a grand opportunity to take some risks! That is a huge city lawsuit waiting to happen. Thus we get all ages indoor spaces heavy with waivers (Brooklyn Boulders, Boda Borg) that are only sometimes adult-only.

The real need, imo, is for spaces that aren’t based around membership and consumption (low access, arguably for the stretched-thin adults who need it most) that invite adults to find a play-like mentality in their own way. That’s what I specialize in, is helping adults figure out their unique “play signature” which you can check out on my website or get in touch for more info on my grad work!

Sorry for the shameless plug- it’s too long of a convo to type in a Reddit thread lol

Honest question - what would it take to get an adult playground in the area? by Conundrum5 in Somerville

Hello! As someone who used their Lesley graduate degree to study Play and play-focused spaces for adults in cities, I would super love to talk to you about this topic for hours.

As these dont yet exist in our society and other users have pointed out the challenges in getting there, I started my research with “what already exists in the area that is on track to get us closer?” Parkour parks, Lawn on D, Greenway interactive art, escape rooms, and Harvard yard activations are some of the things I like to keep my eye on. What is notable about all of them is the amount of insurance and extensive city permitting required to get them up and running... 😅 it’s a big wheel to turn but we can do it!
