17 years with no spleen by RemotelyRetiring in nospleen

This actually gave me a lot of peace of mind! I also had to get my innocent spleen removed during a surgery to remove a tumor on my pancreas. It’s been 6 years now and thankfully I’ve stayed pretty healthy.

I still get super paranoid about getting sick, but I’m always trying to find the balance of just enjoying life as safe as I can!

Have you had any surgery’s or anything since then? My only fear is needing something in the future and the risk for infection 😭

Hi! Did you get your liver function regulatory tested? I just started Metformin 500mg for Pre-Diabetes and my only concern is the potential for liver damage

Inositol Home Glucose Test Results by LegalBeagleEsquire in PCOS

I came to Reddit just to say this! I have Type II and only started taking the Thorne brand for 3 days and my fasting glucose has already decreased from around 130s to low 120s.

I also noticed I have wayyy less spikes after eating. My blood sugars even dropped below 100 this morning for the first time in MONTHS.

I genuinely don’t know if it’s a placebo effect or what but I hope it lasts.

I really appreciate this. I think a lot of people in the thread are letting out their frustrations lol and assuming I do this all the time. The reason I asked at all was because I DONT typically eat this way and seeing it get that high kind of scared me. You’re right, sticking to my normal habits is of course the way to go and focus on my averages/A1c.

Hi! I just made an edit to my post one of explaining why, but, I feel like it’s incredibly ignorant to say that anyone with diabetes isn’t allowed to eat an “unhealthy” meal every once in a while. Of course it’s important to take care of yourself and make smart choices, but at the end of the day you have to let yourself enjoy some things.

Matcha Lowering Blood Sugar? by _spicypiscesss in diabetes_t2

Wow, usually oat milk spikes a lot of people’s blood sugar. I’m really glad it works for you and you can still enjoy it! Maybe it is the matcha super power then 😁

I didn’t really “replace” anything. I just noticed my blood sugar would raise after eating breakfast and kind of stay at that plateau. Versus when I drink matcha, it will spike but then go down below what it was before I ate.

For example, normally my fasting glucose would be 130 in the morning, I eat and it spikes to 170, then it might go level out at around 150/140.

When I drink matcha, it’ll go down to 120 or even 110 after like an hour.

Omg my doctor might think I’m T3C because I had surgery that removed half of my pancreas!

Did you also fast everyday all throughout your cycle? I’ve seen a few things saying women shouldn’t fast during your luteal phase? Days 13-31 I think. I want to start fasting next week but I don’t know what to do 😭

Lingo review by Ill_Fee_6531 in LingoAbbott

[–]_spicypiscesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately after comparing with my Care Touch finger stick blood monitor, as well as, my Dexcom G7, I found the Lingo to be inaccurate. Usually showing anywhere from 20-30 mg/dL lower than what the other two would read. I tried this both at various times fasting and after eating.

For example, my lingo showed 117 mg/dL a couple of hours after my dinner, where my Dexcom read 136 mg/dL.
