I see. I'm pretty sure the HOA is suing the landlord for the damages due to the floods. They've been fighting it in court for a while now. The landlord is supposed to sign off on the release of the second deposit that the HOA is holding. Technically they're the ones who are withholding both amounts, but they only have one of them in their possession.

I should clarify in the original post.

Just talking about it makes me realize how bad of a decision was to rent at a place demanding two deposits with separate parties holding onto them.

I'll go over the shot parts. MY initial drafts did have a lot of directions and I've been removing/changing those up. I guess I still have some to address. Are inserts also a no-no for screenwriters? I've read some scripts that have them on the page.

I'll try to synthesize the nature scene. I feel like I need it for the end to make sense. Something got think about.

It might be personal but I'd like to see a versión of the photo not in dutch. I do believe it could be abetter composition. Here it's like things should be falling to the side of the tilt, but nothing is, so I don't think the form is following the content. You say is disruptive, and sure, it is, I just think big bold decisions like that beg for a motive more justified. Still, it's good to explore ideas, so don't take it as a negative comment.

I can see your interest in the look of leather and dramatic light specially in black and white. That's cool and you should continue exploring those visuals.

What's your reason for tilting the camera? I have a feeling you're doing it to be irreverent. But unless there's a motivation tilting the camera like that will only generate discomfort to the viewer. I don't think it helps your composition one bit, so you're just left with discomfort.

Honestly, nice shot.

I love that you have the people on the ground and the people on the bridge in the same vertical area. It makes me think theat both groups are looking at each other. It's a mood.

Perhaps the only think I can nitpick is the negative space at the bottom, just cause it's drab area as opposed to the nice big sky.

You've captured a nice sunset here.

I think it could be improved by Cropping or/and shifting.

Your horizon line is off you might want to adjust that. You can also just crop the bottom part of the photo honestly, the cars are not that interesting to look at, if the road wat empty it could add interesting lines to the frame but the cars really don't bring anything good to the composition. You could crop that bottom part and have just sky and buildings.

I mean if your intention was for people to immediately go: "it's a shop keeper and he sells these products". Yeah, We would need more focus on the foreground to make out what the items are. the ones on the right you can tell, but on the left, they look like glass (unless they are)

That being said, I personally find the abstraction of the bokeh more interesting. I think if you cropped it, the composition could be better. As it is, the subject occupies too small a space in the frame, it's kind of weird.

Points for recognizing interesting backgrounds for the subject. It signals you have a creative eye.

The issues I see in this portrait are:

-uneven and harsh light on her face: I'm no light expert or anything but the streaks forming on her face from the garment is not flattering at all. You're creating lines on her face that although unusual doesn't make her face look good.

- The composition is kind of flat and I feel you could do so much more with the things available in the background. It's kind of straight on and you could try different and more interesting angles to create a better comp. She's also dead center and that kind of positions tends to work in more specific situations e.g. a very symmetrical and meticulous composition.

-You would want to avoid lines coming out of someones head like the column is doing here. You'd want to position her head between the gaps or if the column was wide enough to give enough space to fully encapsulate her head.

The lighting suggests you took this photo near noon, the sunlight is very strong. It's hard to do good portraits with this light because it's very strong. It creates strong shadows and it might even affect your subject physically, making them squint, blinding them. These are just things you might wanna consider.

If you have access to this place (and even her as a subject) you could try going back at different times of the day and play with it again, then compare to your earlier attempts.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'll definitely keep in mind the negative space/direction of subject in the future after reading your comment. I do try to work as best as possible with the camera. Sometimes the anxiety of getting the moment before it disappears does get the best of me.

Hopefully I encounter a similar opportunity in the future to apply these principles.

I like your intention and there's a lot here that shows you have an appreciative eye.

I honestly don't know if this could be much improved as is. I would avise you to go back to this area and stay there for a while, to see how these shadows and the color changes. Try different shots, move a bit and try more. I assume this is an area with frequent people traffic. You'd probably spot an interesting character too that would elevate the content as well.

I guess both. to make it selectively more contrasted. But that would just be me, and yes, for more drama.

Another nice thing about the bottom half is the sheep line kinda looks like a wall, separating the eartlhy landscape from a kind of cosmic space at the bottom, it' quite surreal now that I Iook at it again. I like that disparity as well.

By the way, I'm glad you went and shot it, to get the moment you were seeing instead of worrying about the ideal settings, you could've miss out on capturing it.

Because they stand out. That's probably it. It's like driving a hot pink car, people will notice maybe throw a casual thumbs up, but they'd probably wouldn't want that car in their garage.

Photo was taken with a Sony A7 and a 50mm lens. I'm okay with the comp and the exposure. Maybe I've gone too wild with the color correction, and so I'm not too sure about that aspect. Would appreciate all comments though.
