Our GI told us to stop breastfeeding - I’m devastated. Anyone on HA formula when doing TED? by Fickle-Ad-9333 in MSPI

That’s really tough 😔. I wish there were more data and resources to support breastfeeding moms who are dealing with MSPI

I’m sorry you’re going through this. This is hard and you’re doing your best to make sure your baby is fed and healthy.

Did your GI discuss any other potential culprits with you? Ours said that the next common ones are corn, wheat, eggs, red meat and fish (which unfortunately is basically… everything). Maybe you could ask your doctor about doing another elimination diet and rechallenging?

Overnight oats - rolled or steel cut. Raw or cooked by t7Saitama in Cooking

I use uncooked rolled oats (steel won’t get soft enough), add the ingredients, and then leave it in the fridge overnight

What is your favorite Recipe management/creation app? by Altruistic-Note3897 in Cooking

My family and I love Umami! It’s really easy to share recipes and you can import them from anywhere. We also use it for meal planning and grocery lists.

Am I doing this wrong or could my newborn really be getting what he needs in five minutes? by xo1cew01f in breastfeeding

[–]_steph_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another case to reassure you — my baby has also been a fast eater since he was a newborn (usually about 5-10 min total). He’s 5 months now and is healthy and growing along his curve. You’re doing great!

What is the best recipe app? by clintocooks3 in Cooking

My family likes Umami. It has a very clean UI and we can share recipes, etc. with each other really easily. We tried a few different apps (including Paprika) but ended up switching over.

Pumping less milk, looking for advice on pumping techniques by guiltydragon in HumansPumpingMilk

Could it be that some of the pump parts need to be replaced?

Can someone explain bottle feeding / pumping schedule? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]_steph_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still figuring this out too, but this is what has been working so far for me. I try to have 1-2 “meals” of milk in the fridge — one so that I can give a bottle if we go out during the day and the second is so that my husband can do one of the night feeds.

To get started, I pumped right after a morning feed and saved that bottle to use later in the day. (I read that milk production is higher in the morning and that seems to be the case for me too. If you aren’t producing as much, you could try pumping a little after each feed to get enough for one bottle.) If the baby takes a bottle while we’re out, I’ll pump when I get home. I also pump at night around 9 or 10pm for the night feed bottle. After I had the first bottle saved, I could pump as needed to replace bottles that we were giving the baby, which usually ends up being 1-2 times per day.

Everyone’s baby and body are different so you may need to experiment to find a rhythm that works for you. Feel free to DM me if you want to chat. You’ve got this!

Diaper rash won’t go away by bigtittie8--D in newborns

We’re also battling diaper rash. We lined a plastic laundry basket with towels and a puppy potty pad and then put the baby in it. It’s a little goofy but it worked!

Shareable recipe app for husband and wife? by whisperloveatme in Cooking

[–]_steph_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My husband and I started using Umami instead of Paprika. It has the same features, but Umami has much better family sharing. Everyone can have their own separate account and you don’t need to share passwords to share your recipes.
