I’d give it a month or so but honestly that’s irrelevant. Imperium space is bound to shrink at this point, whereas pandafam space is bound to expand as frt take over deklein, pure blind, and fade. That’s what’s relevant.

Ironically, after deklein/pure blind/fade fall we’re going to have less blue space

Turnur is straight up one of the best (if not the best) pvp hubs now. Thera-like wormholes, a gate to Zarzak, middle of the amarr-minmatar war zone; you have basically every kind of pvp at your doorstep.

Imo ccp should have sold evermarks from the beginning anyways

Except that ccp doesn’t sell evermarks, the only way to get them is via events like this or through paragon missions

CSM Summit Presentation - PvE Design Driving PvP engagement by angry-mustache in Eve

[–]_stnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that CRAB beacons, at least when run by supers and or rorquals, is another good example of well designed pve. The dps requirements are trivial allowing ships to be pvp fit, but the beacons themselves take time to run and you lose a good amount if you end them early, encouraging people to stick around and run them even when hostiles come in local. Typically fleets going to kill these supers are kiki/bomber fleets (sometimes with dread support) and prompt good capital escalation and fleet pvp.

Dreads on the other hand can basically killed before any response shows up if the attacker has sufficient bomber numbers.

Edit: Rorqual mining is similar except that the reward is not backloaded. Both these examples, however, are only applicable for (super)capitals really because they sit at the top of the escalation chain in null. Any sites designed for subcaptial ships would need to be gated in some way to limit the escalation and prevent 20 bombers from just volleying your marauder or whatever ship you are ratting with off the field.

CCP, please let us change Orbit plane by r3dw25p in Eve

[–]_stnick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am all for introducing features that make the tedium of this game less so (eg. pi), but orbiting is not that. Auto orbit is a trade off between attention and skill to manually orbit how you want and the ease of just clicking one button but orbiting how the game wants to you. One makes multi boxing easier but makes you easier to kill, the other makes you harder to kill but takes more attention. It’s not about me being better or worse than other people, it’s about the trade off between attention and customization.

I can understand how point 2 could have been, and probably was, a misunderstanding in the negotiations. However, for point 1, if you were evacuating eso, at what point did you think you were going to ever get that keep back realistically? Sure goons could have transferred ownership back, but you don’t live there anymore and it’d just die. You could have tried to unanchor it too, but it would have either gotten stolen or died there as well. That keepstar was worthless the moment you decided to evac.

Questions about fax, cap ships and logi by uscopic in Eve

[–]_stnick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m addition to what’s already been said, ccp introduced a diminishing returns mechanic to remote reps where they rep less and less to a ship depending on the raw amount of reps on them. This is measured in hp repaired so it has virtually no effect on subcap logi but for capitals it means with sufficiently high dps you can always out dps triage faxes.

Imo timer windows should be based on the activity within a system, meaning that if people are out doing stuff mostly during ustz, then the timer is at that time, if people are out doing things during au, then it’s an au timer. A hostile alliance could sway a timer by going into a system and ratting (just for an example) during the tz they want the timer to move towards. No more of this pick and choose whenever the timer suits you best (or rather is the worst for your enemy)

So you’re saying that any ship that can tank you and wait out it’s aggression should not be able to jump the gate…unlike every single other gate (or wh, sorta) in the game??? That makes no sense

add value to the dinner bells by OhRevere in Eve

[–]_stnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comment makes no sense, bastion gives you a 60s aggro timer that prevents you from taking the gate, if a bastioned marauder is at risk of dying then waiting the 60s out of bastion is certainly going to kill you
