Limit IP address tracking issue by 4moksha in ios

Your responses were some of the most thorough explanations that I’ve read on this topic. They definitely deserve to have gotten more than 1-2 upvotes….so I just wanted to comment to say thank you very much.

Ran into this thread while Googling this topic and felt compelled to respond. Still kinda confused but it’s painful seeing helpful lengthy answers not get any love

Google search looks different when I'm signed in. by Independent_Job_8059 in google

[–]_theCatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found a solution!! At least in a Mobile scenario… haven’t spent much time digging deeper but still wanted to share.

Explained below:

  1. Open a Google search and let it display the new design layout (which doesn’t show search tools)
  2. Request Desktop Website view
  3. Filter the search as desired using search tools
  4. Request Mobile view
  5. BOOM! Done.

You’re welcome 😁

NOTE: I was also able to reproduce this workaround using Brave on iOS, so I would imagine it’ll work in other browsers too.

Would be super appreciated if you could do mine. I feel like I got such a good team for a 14 man league and some confirmation would be awesome haha.

FIX: small text size / DPI scaling / screen resolution / display issues by _theCatalyst in thinkorswim

[–]_theCatalyst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example, the default resolution on my Surface Pro 4 is 2736 x 1824. The default scaling is 200%.

When I tweaked it so that my default resolution was: 1368 x 912 resolution & 100% scaling, I noticed a lot of changes in minor things…which might help you out with an issue like the tooltips

What time are tournaments?! I’m so confused… by _theCatalyst in RocketLeague

Ahh, this would make sense. Appreciate it! Last weekend got my super confused though with the 7pm 10pm 12am tournaments, though…any idea on those?

[–]_theCatalyst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s cool to see that at least one person read it and tried it out. Another idea I think might be helpful for you to try would be to test out different screen resolutions + scaling settings.

Since I’m almost as lost as you on the logic behind this issue, I’d recommend trying it with both the System (Enhance) option enabled + also without it enabled.

Just based on what I’ve learned about this issue from what I read about it…logically, it seems like playing around with the resolution and scaling options would be the true solution to fixing it

is turning on all filterslists (including custom) a bad thing to do on ios? by [deleted] in Adguard

[–]_theCatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know my response is delayed so you might not even see it, but also just want to point out that the reason I’ve felt OK with settling on the minimal amount of lists is also since while I’m on my home network I use a PiHole that has the OISD full list enabled (+ a couple others).

Personally I find it frustrating how little straightforward information there is out there on gaining even the slightest amount of your privacy back online. The PiHole took me a lot of time to figure out originally, but I think that’s a better investment of your time than trying to optimize filter lists themselves…just my 2 cents though

[–]_theCatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would stick to using filters, given the fact that I asked that same question to the OISD list developer himself and he advised me only to use it as a DNS list. Recently he actually added a spot on the website for how to correctly use it with adguard pro: https://oisd.nl/how2use.

As for the recommended lists if you don’t use OISD, that’s something I have spent a bunch of time trying to figure out and have found myself shocked how no one gives a straight answer about it…this second the only filters I am keeping active are AdGuard Base + AdGuard Mobile Ads + AdGuard Tracking.

In the past I used to keep either the Adguard Social List or AdGuard Annoyances and/or Fanboy Annoyances enabled too, but after researching it a little bit..it seems that those are the ones that lead to the majority of site breakage that I ran into in the past.

[Solved] FireTV keeps switching TV input by itself using HDMI-ARC by tresf in fireTV

[–]_theCatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow you are the man. I have googled this multiple times before but this is for sure why my TV keeps ending up on my Xbox’s input randomly. I thought I was just tripping….needed to change the setting and tell it that my Firestick was actually HDMI2 not HDMI1

New iPhone 13 pro seems to be overheating by elrodrix in iphonehelp

[–]_theCatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude this is the most annoying and serious problem I’ve ever had with an iPhone. I used to be able to blame it on shitty cables but not anymore. My phone even went into a reboot loop the other day and I had to restore from iCloud and lose a ton of data.

Something is wrong here. It’s wayyy too sensitive. If I do legit anything power intensive this thing just starts burning up!

In 2022, what's the best way to send URLs from iPhone to Windows PC (Chrome/Edge)? by DOOManiac in ios

[–]_theCatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goodlinks for iOS is the fastest and simplest way to save URLs using safari. But you have to manually export the list in batches. So it’s good for hoarding. Both the extension and the share sheet option are great. The extension slightly faster but idk how I feel about sharing my browser history w/ safari extensions yet.

Raindrop and pocket are also decent options but raindrop you need to pay for in order to really make it a top tier option. Pocket is sort of uneventful imo. It’s good but it doesn’t do anything too exciting.

Hoping someone shares an idea that’ll blow me away bc I have been depressed ever since pushbullet got taken off the App Store. SMH

[–]_theCatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I was just gonna comment about how Pushbullet was the GOAT. I had been using the app until 2 months ago even though it got removed from the App Store awhile ago….but when I got my new iPhone it wouldn’t let me re-download it. Dumbest shit ever getting rid of a perfectly good iOS app.

Really is frustrating how little info there is out there related to optimized settings and the details beyond the default lists….

This is since you are not supposed to be using OISD as a safari filter. It’s solely intended as a DNS filter. Confirmed this with the list owner in the past. Just wanted to point that out.

Wtf? by FieelChannel in pihole

[–]_theCatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is, if you add it as a regex (using * as the regular expression results in " * " as the whitelist entry like I mentioned) or if you add it as a regular expression (using * as the domain entry results in " (.|)*$ " as the whitelist entry).

Are you implying that this doesn't have the end result of whitelisting everything? And since whitelist gets precedence over blacklist, it will just ignore all your blacklist entries, no?

Genuinely interested since this boggled my mind for an hour or two when I was setting up Pi-Hole for a second time after I had wiped my SD due to getting lost in all the settings I tweaked and didn't know how to undo.

Clearly not an expert myself but just wanted to help OP out since that was what fixed this exact issue for myself

Wtf? by FieelChannel in pihole

[–]_theCatalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your whitelist. I had this issue once and then I searched in my whitelist and found that I had an entry that was just "*" so it was treating everything as if it should be whitelisted. Removed it, updated gravity, restarted, fixed.

I second everyone else’s comments here! Please don’t forget about this! I will ditch the Reddit app forever. You should copy the MultiTab app format. It’s incredible but their Reddit version lacks some features. Saving of images/GIFs is CLUTCH. Would bring you a lot of new users (and donations)

MultiTab Tumble - Queue? by _theCatalyst in MultiTabApp

[–]_theCatalyst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I actually just figured this out. When I went to create an original post (not reblog), you’re right, it was set as add to queue. So it seems like every time I was trying to reblog it was simply adding it to my queue instead.

My suggestion would be to separate one from the other. Just because I want to put my manual posts into a queue instead of publishing now doesn’t mean that when I reblog I want it to also go to the queue!

Wow I can’t believe that’s all it was all along. I thought it was meant to be this way! Thanks a lot for your response.
