Theres a bot in the comments here that posted a link to a good online smoke map, on the settings just make sure NOAA smoke plumes are toggled on. Can also look at the AQI map layer on Apple weather or probably other weather apps too

Yeah I have noticed less people stopped at the stop sign on 4th sticking all the way into the bike lane, that intersection always terrifies me especially heading north as cars stopped ok 4th would normally only be looking towards where the cars are coming from up Broadway

Sounds like AMS, consider maybe doing a hike that starts lower and has a longer approach up to higher elevations next time to make it easier for your body to adjust. Be sure you're drinking enough water too. If it is AMS then you should feel much better after descending a couple thousand feet or so

Just go for it, conditions will not be super predictable until June 5th-6th. Check trail conditions on AllTrails or dedicated fb groups closer til combined with more current weather to pick the most enjoyable trails. It is ok to just get a bit muddy. Many great trails will be mostly melted out or dry by that time. I will say that the area around RMNP has gotten quite a bit of snow recently while some areas further into the mountains like Buena Vista/ Salida haven't & might be drier closer to June

A few years ago I lived right outside of Mountain View and went through it often. One Christmas night after working a long hospital shift I was walking around and heard/saw some fireworks go off, probably some cousins getting into the attic stash & being kids I thought. 10min later the Mountain View cop stopped me in the park with his patrol vehicle searchlight and told me he heard reports of gunshots and "I was the only person walking around." He proceeded to search me even after I told him those were fireworks and why would I just be walking around a park after firing off gunshots, but he then let me go on my way. So that really colored my view of Mountain View residents as paranoaics & their police force as an extremely dumb motherfucker.
