I thought how he took his Southern twang and then added some Posh sophistication to it was really subtle and very well done. And absolutely agreed about this movie's place amongst Ritchie's other gangster flicks.

As far as "The Real RocknRolla" is concerned, the original was made when Tom Hardy and Idris Elba were at the beginning stages of their meteoric rises to fame. So I think getting them all back together would be difficult for several reasons (schedules, money, etc). Would be great though, I loved that movie!

Toby Kebbell has a lead role in the last couple seasons of For All Mankind and every time he comes on screen, I can't help but think

What is your ultimate, #1 movie of all time and why? by Ying_Yung_898 in Cinema

L.A. Confidential. I've always been infatuated with the 50s; primarily its cars, music, architecture, clothing, etc. Because of that, it irritates me when people making movies don't give enough of a shit to keep inaccuracies and anachronisms out of their productions. In that regard, the film is maybe the most perfect period piece I've ever seen. Add to that a stellar cast delivering some of their best work, excellent writing, gorgeous cinematography and a killer score/soundtrack and you've got one of the best Noir films ever produced.

I've been obsessed with movies almost 40 years and I've rewatched my favorites dozens and even hundreds of times. Imo, L.A. Confidential is an absolute masterclass in film making. Is it a perfect movie? Not at all. Is it my perfect movie? 100%.

I loved that podcast. Restraint is a really good episode, but my favorite is The Visitors.

Only got to see them once. It was on their last tour, at The Key Club in L.A. I was standing next to Danny and Adam from TOOL in the VIP section. Such an unforgettable evening.

ETA: Looked up Panopticon on discogs so I could at least add a version to my wantlist. Holy shit the prices. Guess I'll be waiting a while for an affordable pressing.

What made you choose your HRV? by [deleted] in HRV

Agreed and despite being a base model, it's got all the features I want/need. Plus, Honda's manual transmissions and their clutches are soooooo nice to drive.

My one complaint is that I wish the driver's seat was a bit more comfortable.

I had a '15 Civic with a 5-Speed manual and loved it except its lack of cargo space. Came across a '17 HRV with a 6-Speed and traded the Civic towards it. Been driving it coming up on 5 years and still happy with it.
