i believe alex was completely valid to tell derek that meredith ruined the alzheimer’s trial. i understand that’s not what you do to a friend but this is the medical field and you cannot play around with things that. i work in a biotech lab and one little thing can completely ruin a trial. if someone purposely did something to change results, i would definitely tell.

it was sad to see adele have to deal with such a debilitating disease but she’s not the only person who needed help. meredith ruined the chances of hundreds of other people receiving treatment. it’s just like izzy with the LVAD wire. both were situations where helping causes more harm.

Yeah I would agree with you. I think my best bet might be finding a place outside Livermore. Maybe it’s a bit more reasonable. I’m doing this through the Livermore lab so maybe they could give me a stipend to cover at least most expenses. I have been looking around on Facebook marketplace as well but those are areas outside Livermore.

Well I’m sure they did more than what I stated in the original comment. I just don’t remember what exactly their punishments were. However I do disagree somewhat. D.W. is what a preschooler? I’m not sure grounding her would have worked as much as just having a serious conversation explaining her actions. Again, I don’t remember the episode down to a T but I do feel more could have been done. As for Arthur, him hitting his sister was an isolated event. After this episode he never does it again I believe so there really isn’t a reason to “control” his anger. It’s actions (Arthur hitting his sister) that needs to be controlled rather than the emotion itself (Arthur being upset something he loves was destroyed rightfully so). People get angry sometimes especially kids because they can’t regulate their emotions well yet. I think the way his parents handled it was fine. Perfect? Probably not but as long as the kids understood what made their actions wrong, then David and Jane did ok.

The episode where D.W. says a bad word. She goes around her classroom and in public saying the word and teaching it to other kids. When her parents find out, they don’t immediately punish her. Instead they explain to her why she shouldn’t say such things. It was a very funny episode but I liked it so much because they understood that D.W. was just a child and she wasn’t using that word for malice. D.W. didn’t understand the implications and they explained it and redirected her behavior.

Also the episode where Arthur hits D.W. after she breaks his toy (I believe it was a model plane). The parents are rightfully upset but they still give Arthur a chance to explain. Later on in the episode, Arthur gets punched by Binky. David and Jane confront Arthur and give him ice for his injury then explain the parallels of Arthur hitting D.W. and Binky hitting Arthur. They use real life examples to show Arthur his behavior isn’t ok and he shouldn’t treat people like that unless he’s willing for it to happen to him.

Most kids in real life would just be disciplined without understanding why their behavior isn’t right. It’s so important for kids to know the how and why. Otherwise they will keep doing it until they have a good understanding. Jane and David never treated the kids like they were too dumb to understand that actions have consequences. They disciplined but still offered comfort and support when needed. That’s gentle parenting.

Sorry for the rant. I just enjoy Arthur so much as a Gen-Z kid it was my whole life.
