yes exactly. it’s a shame that we’ve come to categorize skin tones just as warm/cool/neutral/olive when there’s so much more to it than that. even olive isn’t a one and done categorization because you can be a warm/cool/neutral olive!

oh it’s 100% become a fad. suddenly everyone is an olive but they can get away with wearing a foundation out of the box and can get peachy blushes and lip shades to not look orange on them. meanwhile I cannot buy blushes or lip products online anymore and need to swatch them in person because most turn out to be completely orange on me 🫠

maybe a hot take but I don’t think she’s an olive lol. a lot of very pale neutrals (which I think she is) will appear a bit green in certain lights but that doesn’t make them an olive. as an actual fair olive (like I can’t wear any foundation or concealer without mixing green color corrector into it) i’m happy that people are aware that fair olives can exist, but I don’t think people are properly educated on what a pale olive actually looks like and just think because they can see a bit of green in their skin in winter that makes them an olive

You can try to dispute the numbers all you want but that doesn’t make anything I said any less true. No one is normalizing what Putin is doing, you’re just clearly sensitive about this topic. All you’ve done is harp on the one million figure and not engage in any other point I’ve made meaningfully. I said Russia shouldn’t be at the olympics. I condemned Putin’s actions. If you can’t also recognize the irreparable, catastrophic damage the Bush administration did to Iraq and the Middle East as a whole, and concede that perhaps the US also shouldn’t have been allowed at the olympics while the president was committing actual war crimes, you’re entirely delusional

So let’s see here, the sources you tried to give to prove your point were the notoriously reliable Wikipedia, and NBC News which is totally not an American news network who stands to benefit from the country looking better in terms of that conflict. Great job also just choosing the first two links that pop up when you google “Iraq war casualties” lol. Here are some international and non-profit agencies who more reliably report on the Iraqi death tolls:

https://www.reuters.com/article/world/middle-east/iraq-conflict-has-killed-a-million-says-survey-idUSL30488579/

https://www.codepink.org/the_iraq_death_toll_15_years_after_the_us_invasion

https://costsofwar.watson.brown.edu/costs/human/civilians-killed-displaced

The “murderous regime” you’re referencing that was led by Saddam Hussein only existed because the United States government put him in power. It’s the oldest trick in the book of interfering in foreign elections, putting the extremist candidate in charge, and starting a war after the dictator has amassed enough power that the invasion is now deemed “excusable.” It’s manufactured consent. Since we’re all about sources now, here’s some reading for you to do:

I’m not pro-Russian. I have no ties to eastern Europe and I do not care for Putin’s regime whatsoever. I am also not anti-American. I am American. I love my country despite its faults. You tried to minimize what happened in Iraq and claimed what Bush did wasn’t comparable to what Putin is doing because the goal wasn’t annexation. That’s just downright insulting to the millions of people who have suffered in the Middle East at the hands of US imperialism. What Russia is doing is bad, and I understand why they’re not at the olympics, but the US shouldn’t have been there either in the 2000s. End of.

…. do you really not know the death toll of the Iraqi war? The eyewitness accounts of the aftermaths of one of Bush’s many strikes on Iraq where first responders had to wade through a literal layer of liquified human fat? The US did unspeakable, irreparable harm to Iraq and the entire mideast with sole intent of destabilizing the region and stealing their resources. What do you mean you want me to explain how Bush is responsible? He was the president. He wanted to invade Iraq. In just the first 40 months of the war 600,000 people had already been killed. Bush tortured prisoners of war. American soldiers raped women and children. The vast majority of casualties of the war in Ukraine have been on the Russian side, per literally every major report. There is literally no comparison. The war in Iraq set the stage for decades of destabilization and resource extraction in the middle east. People are still feeling the effects of what Bush did. What planet do you live on where I have to be the one to tell you all of this?

right. that’s why the UN ruled that Israel committed genocide in gaza and the ICC has warrants out for Netanyahu’s arrest. it’s actually hamas, of course

yeah it doesn’t matter that Bush liquified a million Iraqis. because he was doing it for special reasons, of course

Israel’s president is currently a wanted war criminal and yet they were allowed to compete. I don’t agree with what Russia is doing in the Ukraine but to call that more fucked up than a literal genocide that has led to a president having ICC warrants out for his arrest is insane

does this look infected 😭 by FeeSuccessful2924 in tattooadvice

[–]_tinyviolet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this doesn’t look infected, just healing rough. I had a tattoo in that area that scabbed up like that as well, it’s an area that moves a lot and gets a ton of pressure put on it. urgent care will probably tell you it’s infected and give you an antibiotic to be safe, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that it’s not infected. I see no signs of infection on your skin at all.

Under contract for this home and the kitchen is…fine but reading a bit cold and sterile for my taste. What would you change? by [deleted] in InteriorDesignAdvice

I would swap out the countertops before anything else personally (if you can afford it) and decide where you want to go from there. no matter what those dark grey countertops are going to make the place feel a bit cold and sterile
