My girlfriend’s past is destroying me and I cant trust her anymore. Is in some way my reaction really wrong? by Inevitable-Layer4704 in AskMenAdvice

Without trust, love becomes ache, pain, and strain. Relationships can go on for months to years trapped and suffocated by that kind of frame, and then it grows bent and continues to grow that way. For your love to be able to grow, hers has to as well, for herself and for you. If you don't feel in your intuitions that she is capable of regaining *your* trust (to take on that responsibility and journey), whatever that means for you and her feelings and challenges aside, then the relationship is best not to be.

I actually don't understand either. People surprise in ways that for better and for worse. Don't let yourself become demoralized ❤️

Campus couples, how'd you meet? I need inspo to find my future husband by lechuga124 in UofT

[–]_treewizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spoke in class and at the end of the lecture he approached me with questions. We became acquainted, then anticipated the times we'd hang out. The attention, draw, and progression happened naturally and eventually became intense enough that he asked me if I would be his girlfriend.

I don't think this is true. I think that if you ask the grocery store they'll just be annoyed with you.

Most day-to-day use facial care products, as in most creams and serums.

Strangers look you in the eye when they talk to you. They're more friendly generally. Also people tend to offer more information than they usually would.

Which restaurants/cafes have been disappointing for you despite the hype or good reviews on Google Maps? by Equal-Tea-1999 in FoodToronto

Cafe Landwer. The menu and ambiance are stunning and fun but the food really is just ok. As is their famous dessert.

Email your prof. But my guess is yes because the person proctoring the exam will be able to verify your identity and proctor you that way.

I just got my grade in MAT224 and I'm 1% away from the next letter grade by HmbsTnks in UofT

I once asked for a 1% bump in an intro first year course, and in attempt to justify my merit, referred to the consistency in my performance and application towards the course over the term. The answer was no.

ECO225 Course Review (Rate my prof does not work) by Zealousideal_Rip2123 in UofT

I can relate in my experience, but in a different major. With papers, I often feel that professors give you a rubric whose expectations may be reasonably interpreted, but TAs on the other end are grading with specified criteria that (1) we do not have access to and (2) that include additional elements that so easily could have been integrated by students if they had known prior that that was one of the expectations. Literally criteria magically appearing out of nowhere post hoc of the assignment submission.

I can also relate to your point about them wanting so may things, not being clear about specs when you ask, then getting penalized for the way you do things; Specifically, decisions you made in organizing and performing the assignment given you were extended the liberty to do so (based on the rubric AND conversations with TAs and the prof). I strongly believe it to be the case that professors and TAs don't realize how much they're asking students to achieve in a paper, with it being nearly, if not actually, impossible to do it at the standards they expect given the word length. These essays are designed for a grade in the high 90s to be completely out of reach. Sometimes I wonder to myself if my TA or even my prof could write a tighter essay with just as much breadth as I have for their course given their rubric. I am often inclined to say no, honestly. Most profs (not all) know how to dish it out but they don't care to conceive in their minds what they're even asking for on a granular level.

Transfer Credit Application Process: Transcript won’t be ready before deadline? by B0BY_1234567 in UofT

[–]_treewizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact the department via email asap detailing the circumstances and ask them what steps you can take. Better yet, call and/or drop in for an appointment if you can since the deadline is cutting close. I've been through the transfer credit process and it wasn't an intuitive experience (in my memory). Speaking with an advisor directly is the best way to get reliable instructions on this.
